  • Patent number: 7145970
Abstract: A frequency offset detector for AFC under Rayleigh fading. The AFC includes a variable phase generator, an exponential term ej ?107 t multiplied on an incoming signal, a low-pass filter, a gain amplifier, a multiplier, and an offset detector. The offset detector includes a filter, an amplifier, a delay block, three adders, and two blocks that output the absolute value of an inputted signal. The filter is a Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter that produces a Hilbert Transformation of the inputted complex gain. The Hilbert FIR filter, together with the complex gain and two of the adders, generate two complex signals: Xp and Xn respectively representing the positive and negative frequency components of the inputted complex gain. The detector output is equal to the difference between the magnitudes of Xp and Xn.

  • Publication number: 20030185214
Abstract: The present invention relates to a scheduling unit in a wireless communication system. For sequentially receiving a plurality of Protocol Data Units (PDUs) in a plurality of communication sessions, accumulate and schedule the plurality of PDUs during a predetermined time frame, and transmit the PDUs based on a maximum power-strength of the wireless communication system. The scheduling unit comprises a time-based scheduler and a power-based scheduler. When the power-based scheduler schedules the PDUs, if the total sum of the required power of the PDUs exceeds the maximum power-strength of the wireless communication system, the power-based scheduler sends back to the time-based scheduler the PDUs whose power amounts to the exceeding of the maximum power-strength of the wireless communication system according to the corresponding priority values of the PDUs, so that the wireless communication system transmits all at a time the remaining PDUs whose total power remains within the maximum power-strength.

  • Publication number: 20030165132
Abstract: This present invention is a system and method to adjust a searcher threshold parameter of a RAKE receiver. The adjusting system includes a searcher, a power estimator, and a parameter control apparatus. When the searcher finds and acquires a new path signal, the power estimator will estimate the power of the new path signal and that of the other path signals. The parameter control apparatus will calculate and monitor the power ratio corresponding to the new path signal. If the power ratio remains smaller than a predetermined power ratio parameter for a first predetermined times, the parameter control apparatus will increase the value of the threshold parameter. If the power ratio remains unchanged for a second predetermined times, the parameter control apparatus will lower the value of the threshold parameter. After that, the searcher will acquire the path signals among the multipath signal being searched in accordance with the adjusted threshold parameter.

  • Patent number: 6550900
Abstract: An ink container having an ink reservoir for storing ink, a cover set above the ink reservoir for forming an ink adjusting room with a top portion of the ink reservoir, an ink outlet for providing ink within the ink reservoir, and an elastic deformation device set within the ink reservoir. The elastic deformation device is connected to the gap of the ink reservoir to accept external air into the elastic deformation device. When a pressure within the ink reservoir is lower than a pressure of external air, the external air flowing into the elastic deformation device of the ink container causes the elastic deformation device to expand. When the pressure within the ink reservoir is higher than the pressure of the external air, the elastic deformation device shrinks to have an outwardly overlapping wall with a folding shape in order to balance the pressure of the external air with the pressure of the ink reservoir.
