Abstract: A housing for an exhaust gas purification component encloses an interior space in which at least one receptacle is formed by the housing at the outside. An exhaust system includes at least one first exhaust line section and the housing having the exhaust gas purification component. The first exhaust line section is in engagement with the receptacle, and the first exhaust line section and the receptacle are connected to one another in a materially integral manner. A motor vehicle having the exhaust system is also provided.

Abstract: Method of and apparatus for continuous non-destructive testing of bar-shaped specimens formed of iron-containing material of specific quality characteristics, where the bar-shaped specimens, such as pipes, move on a roll table (2) along an elongated path through two testing blocks (8, 9) spaced apart along the path. The testing blocks (8, 9) are mechanically decoupled from one another and are logically linked to an electronic testing installation (10). As a specimen moves through a first testing block (8) a signal is developed indicating the presence or absence of flaws and their location in the specimen. The location is referred to the length of the specimens. The testing blocks (8, 9) are located between a supply station (1) and a sorting station (3) with the roll table (2) extending between the two stations. Based on the signals generated, the specimens are sorted in the sorting station between an accepted tray (4) and a number of rejected trays (5, 6, 7) for reworkable or scrap specimens.
Abstract: A double walled pipe elbow with an intermediate space between an inner pipe and an outer pipe is formed by joining the ends of a straight inner pipe and a straight outer pipe. The two pipes are bent into a desired shape and then placed in a shaping recess in a shaping tool. Seal plugs are placed at the opposite ends of the pipe elbow. In the sealed condition, a pressurized medium is supplied through at least one end seal plug into the inner pipe and between the inner and the outer pipe for expanding the outer pipe into surface contact with the shaping recess.
Abstract: A die (2) formed of two halves (4, 5) is placed in a container (7) filled with an incompressible liquid. The die halves have a plane of contact disposed in parallel relation with and spaced from the axis of a hollow member to be deformed within a die cavity formed by the die halves. Mandrils (15) are forced into sealing contact with the open ends of the hollow member by hydraulic cylinders. A high deformation pressure is supplied into the hollow member and the mandrils are secured in sealing contact with the hollow member against such pressure.

Abstract: A pipe supporting mandrel for use in connection with a mandrel rod of a pipe bending machine includes a hose-like part of flexible material hermetically sealed at both ends thereof and being provided at one end with a connecting piece attachable to the mandrel rod. The mandrel rod and connecting piece having a throughgoing passage for admitting a pressure medium into the flexible hose-like part. Before the start of the bending process, the flexible hose-like part is inserted into the region of the pipe to be bent and after inflation by the pressure medium it firmly engages against the inner wall of the pipe. After completion of the bending the hose-like part is deflated and the entire mandrel is withdrawn from the pipe.
