  • Publication number: 20020176737
Abstract: A securing element for interposition between two components to be joined, includes a double-stick bonding substrate, and plural anchoring bodies adhesively held on the substrate and projecting toward the components. A detachable film is deposited on a bottom side of the substrate whereas a protective film is applied on the topside of the substrate to captivate the anchoring bodies. After removal of the detachable film, the securing element can be adhered to one of the components to be joined, and the two components can then be joined together by pressing them together, whereby the anchoring bodies penetrate into the surface of the components to establish a non-slip connection.

  • Publication number: 20020157444
Abstract: In a method of making an axle element for a motor vehicle, a rod-shaped semi-finished product of aluminum is use used as starting material and heated to a desired shaping temperature. A first end of the semi-finished product is upset in a cavity of a shaping die by means of a first punch. Subsequently, the other end of the semi-finished product is compressed in the cavity by a second punch, whereby compressed material is forced into a branch of the cavity to form a pre-forge part with a leg portion. The pre-forge part is then forged into a finished axle element, e.g. a swivel bearing.

  • Publication number: 20020158487
Abstract: A side impact structure for incorporation between an outer shell and an inner door panel of a door of a motor vehicle, includes an elongate section member having an attachment element. Secured to the attachment element is a blocking element which at least partially bridges a spacing between the outer shell and the inner door panel to thereby prevent access to the actuating mechanism of the door lock via a gap in the outer shell.

  • Publication number: 20020109328
Abstract: A suspension, includes a load-carrying spring having one end indirectly supported via a spring washer by a component of a vehicle body of a motor vehicle and another end indirectly supported via a second spring washer by a wheel support assembly of the motor vehicle. Disposed at the one end of the load-carrying spring is a cup-shaped receptacle, and at the other end an abutment which has a stop surface. A slave spring is arranged in coaxial relationship to the load-carrying spring and has one end received in the receptacle and another end intended for engagement with the stop surface of the abutment. The receptacle and/or the abutment has a radially outwardly extending support ring for at least partially engaging behind the respective one of the spring washers at a side distal to the load-carrying spring to form a pre-fabricated unitary structure with the load-carrying spring.

  • Patent number: 6398289
Abstract: A side impact beam for integration in a vehicle door of a motor vehicle has a beam member having a hat-shaped profiled section extending at least over a preponderant portion of a length of the beam member. The hat-shaped profiled section has a longitudinal stay and leg portions connected to opposed edges of the stay. The hat-shaped profiled section has an end section facing a door column when mounted in the vehicle door. A hook is connected to the end section and angled toward the door column, wherein the hook is configured to engage an opening in an inner sheet metal part of the vehicle door. The hook has a hat-shaped cross-section and is arranged at an end face of the end section, wherein the end section has a height tapering in a direction toward the hook.
