  • Patent number: 6321821
Abstract: A traveler (slat carriage) for a vertical blind is provided with the carriage being movable within a support rail. The traveler includes a main body defining an interior space. The main body has an outer surface defining a gripping pocket. A toothed wheel is disposed in the interior space. A pivot pin is supported in the toothed wheel. The pivot pin and the toothed wheel are together pivotable about a vertical axis. The main body is held form an outside of the main body via the gripping pocket for assembly of the toothed wheel in the space and the pivot pin in the toothed wheel. The invention also provides a traveler (slat carriage) and rail assembly with a support rail, a group of travelers and a drive member. Each of the travelers includes a main body inserted into the rail. A drive member for moving the travelers within the support rail is provided for opening and closing the vertical blind. The drive member is inserted into an orifice of the main body, after assembly of the group of travelers.

  • Patent number: 5853040
Abstract: A cassette blind with a weighting profile at the lower end of a set of blinds and a blind drive, in which coupling elements with a winding shaft mounted in the cassette profile. Complementary coupling elements with a drive member and complementary coupling elements at a pin which can be stationarily fastened are arranged, wherein coupling elements of the drive member and of the winding shaft mutually engage each other during a rotary movement of the drive member in the winding-up direction of the blinds, and coupling elements of the winding shaft and of the pin mutually engage each other in the opposite direction. The coupling elements at the winding shaft are arranged rotatably over a predetermined angle against spring action in the winding-up direction of the blinds in order to achieve a torsionally elastic tensioning of the weighting profile at the cassette profile at the end of the winding-up movement of the blinds.

  • Patent number: 5797441
Abstract: A device for the manual operation of a blind, preferably a vertical blind, by way of a pull cord, which is pulled as a loop with a leading end and a return end by a slat carriage movable in a guide with a slat each arranged on them around their longitudinal axis. The cord is led in a rail which blocks access to a majority of the cord. The rail has channels extending in a longitudinal direction defining passages for the leading end portion and the return end portion of the pull cord. The section rail also defines access openings for providing access by an operator to grip and move the pull cord through the rail. The rest of the rail blocks access to the pull cord.

  • Patent number: 5771953
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a vertical blind with a crank rod for horizontally displacing and for pivoting the slats, which can each be pivoted by approximately 180.degree. in both directions up to a common plane by a pivoting gear in a slat carriage, which is horizontally movable in a support rail, about a vertical pivoting axis, wherein the crank rod can be coupled with a driving wheel, which is mounted in an end carriage and which is arranged on a pivot shaft, which meshes with a toothed wheel of the pivoting gear in the slat carriage in an axially displaceable manner, but in a manner adapted to rotate in unison. The toothed wheel can be moved about a toothed wheel approximately 180.degree. from one side of the common plane of the slats to the opposite side in a curved guide, which is arranged at the end carriage.

  • Patent number: 5766396
Abstract: A working process for producing pockets at the ends of slats of a slat web made of a flexible material and to a device for carrying out this process. The essential feature is the arrangement of a feeding device, by means of which the section of a web-like welding flux needed for a welding process can be inserted transversely to the longitudinal direction of the slat from the side into the partially open slat pocket, and the welding flux is fed at a linear distance.

  • Patent number: 5749406
Abstract: A vertical blind device with a crank rod for operation, in which slats, which are hung on slat carriages, can be pivoted about a vertical axis by 180.degree. from a closed hanging position, directed horizontally in a plane parallel to one another, into the other closed hanging position and are horizontally movable with the slat carriages in a support rail. A pivot pin of a pivot drive is provided for a pivot shaft, guided through all the slat carriages in an axially displaceable manner and adapted to rotate in unison, and the crank rod have complementary coupling elements. The pivot pin lies with its coupling element in the two stopped positions of the slats laterally outside the plane of the closed hanging. During a reversed rotation, the pivot pin with its coupling element, together with the 180.degree. pivoting movement of the slats, pivots from one side to the other side of the then closed hanging slats.

  • Patent number: 5586631
Abstract: A window shade, in which a winding shaft, which is rotatably mounted with its ends on stationary pivot pins, can be coupled with a drive member at one of its ends. At least one rolling body is arranged in a recess, which is wedge-shaped in the circumferential direction, between an inner jacket surface of a pivot sleeve projection, which is rigidly mounted on the pivot pin, and an outer jacket surface of a shaft sleeve projection, which is rigidly mounted on the winding shaft. The rolling body acts as a locking member and is clamped in the wedge-shaped recess and can be released from the clamped position by an opening element movable by the drive member in the direction of rotation.
