  • Publication number: 20020064348
Abstract: A mount for connecting an optical connector adapter to a panel. The mount comprises a first section adapted to attach to the panel; and a second section having an aperture for receiving a portion of the optical connector adapter. The second section is adapted to extend through a hole in the panel. The aperture has a centerline axis which is angled relative to the first section such that the centerline axis of the aperture is angled relative to a centerline axis of the hole when the first section is attached to the panel.

  • Patent number: 6290547
Abstract: A receptacle for an electrical connector which comprises an elongated insulative housing having parallel lateral walls, parallel end walls and base wall. An interior cavity is formed by those walls, and a longitudinal groove extends between the longitudinal walls from adjacent one of said end walls to the other end wall. At least one conductive contact having a base end and a distal end extends upwardly through the base wall and then in the interior cavity. A wafer having a hardness greater than the base wall is positioned beneath the base wall to enhance dimensional stability of the receptacle in a vertical or other direction perpendicular to the substrate on which the receptacle is mounted.

  • Patent number: 6159050
Abstract: The present invention is a modular jack assembly which includes an outer insulative housing having top and bottom walls and opposed lateral walls while defining an interior section. This housing also has front and rear open ends. This assembly also includes an insulative insert having a top section, an upper side and rear section having a base side and a recess. This jack is positioned so that the upper side of its top section is adjacent to top side of the insulative housing such that its terminal end extends into the interior section of the insulative housing and the rear section at least partially covers the rear open end of the insulative housing. This assembly also includes an electronic component mounted in the rear section of the insulative insert. A conductor is mounted in the electrical insert.

  • Patent number: 5486115
Abstract: A connector assembly 10 includes a receptacle 12 and a pin header 14 adapted to mate with the receptacle. A row of resilient enhancement contacts 18 extend through a backplane 16 and is held in place in fixed relation to the receptacle. The receptacle and pin header each comprise an insulative body portion 20, 19, respectively. The receptacle 12 comprises contact pins extending through body portion 20 and arranged in three rows of thirty-two pins per row (3.times.32). The pin header 14 likewise comprises contact pins extending through body portion 19 and arranged in three rows of thirty-two pins per row. The pin header 14 includes a row of contact strips 24 disposed on an outer surface of body portion 19. The contact strips are preferably of uneven lengths to provide for stage mating between the contact strips 24 and corresponding enhancements pins 18.
