  • Patent number: 11840438
Abstract: A pallet transportation apparatus including a pallet support array supported on a pallet transportation chassis for reciprocal motion and comprising pallet supporters that receive and support pallets. A mast assembly is fixed to the chassis and includes guides that support and guide the pallet support array through a reciprocal lifting and lowering motion, causing the pallet support array to lift and lower pallets. A prime mover moves the pallet support array through its reciprocal lifting and lowering motion, and a motion control system schedules the reciprocal lifting and lowering motion of the pallet support array.

  • Patent number: 11518064
Abstract: A deflection impedance device is provided for a stripper head plate of a concrete product machine mold assembly. The device may comprise a spacer having an axial thickness generally equal to a desired spacing between an upper surface of a stripper head plate of a mold assembly stripper head, and a lower surface of a mold head adapter plate of a concrete product machine. A magnetic element may be used to retain the spacer on the stripper head plate upper surface where it will brace the stripper head plate against the mold head adapter plate to limit or prevent upward bowing that might otherwise result from forces imparted by concrete product being formed within the mold assembly.

  • Patent number: 11034053
Abstract: Concrete product machine apron gap adjustment by actuating a gapper mechanism to set a desired gap between a reciprocally-movable apron plate and an interchangeably installable mold assembly installed in a concrete products machine. The gapper mechanism sets a desired gap between the machine apron plate and the mold assembly by injecting an index amount of hydraulic fluid into fluid communication with the rod side of a primary apron plate positioning cylinder, causing the machine's apron plate to retreat a desired gap distance away from an engaged position against the mold assembly.

  • Patent number: 9427887
Abstract: A vibration drive assembly comprising two rotary servo motors and an electronic motor controller electrically coupled to the servo motors and configured to regulate the motors and operate them in synchronism with one another at a predetermined rotational speed. Two articulated drive trains are connectable between the servo motors and mold assembly vibrator shafts of a concrete product molding machine and are configured to mechanically transmit rotational motion from the servo motors to the vibrator shafts when the mold assembly is in an elevated vibration position with the vibrator shaft axes coaxially aligned with rotational servo motor axes. The drive trains remain connected between the servo motors and vibrator shafts when the mold assembly is in a rest position below the vibration position, with the vibrator shaft axes axially mis-aligned with respect to the servo motor axes.

  • Patent number: 6814906
Abstract: Apparatus for molding blocks with laterally projecting, undercut side features includes a mold box having split mold parts defining a mold cavity open at the top and bottom. A top plate having an opening aligned with a cavity overlies the mold parts. Moldable block material is charged into the cavity from a feed box, and the material is compacted and shaped between a lower pallet and upper stripper head. The mold parts are retractable beneath the top plate to release the block for stripping through the bottom of a mold. • Patent number: 6764294
Abstract: A concrete product molding machine supports a mold with a vertically extending mold cavity. A pallet support is mounted for lifting movement to dispose a pallet to close the cavity. Attachment structure extends from the mold to rest on frame surfaces prior to being moved upwardly to provide a clearance for vertical vibration of the mold. Mechanism vibrates the mold in a vertical path having lateral x and y axis vibration components. A guidance pin receiver is carried by the support attachment structure and a pin carrier assembly on the machine frame carries a vertically reciprocal guidance pin movable from a remote position up into the pin receiver. A vibration limiter is disposed laterally to the pin for limiting at least one of the lateral vibration components and a motor operated mechanism is coupled to the pin for moving the pin vertically.

  • Patent number: 6604930
Abstract: A molding machine for a concrete mix includes a frame with a vibratible mold having a vertical through cavity with hollow cores extending downwardly in the mold cavity. A pallet receiver with a pallet thereon is movable upwardly to close the bottom of the cavity. Core tops have openings therein and ventilation pins are receivable to block air passage through the core top openings when the pallet is in mold closing position. Cups with bottom openings are in the cores below the top openings to receive and guide the pins and passageways around the pins permit suction-braking air to move past the pins to the cup bottom openings when the pins move downwardly away from the core top openings.

  • Patent number: 6257865
Abstract: Apparatus, used with a molding machine for densifying and molding concrete products and releasing them in an uncured state wherein the upper surfaces comprise coarse aggregate and fines including a cement binder, textures the upper surfaces of the uncured concrete slab, stone and block products as they pass on a generally horizontally traveling conveyor. A force spraying station is positioned above the conveyor to direct a predetermined volumetric, overhead force spray of liquid at a substantially vertical spray angle with a pressure of only sufficient force to progressively loosen a predetermined amount of fines on the upper surfaces as the products move past. A blow off station at a predetermined distance downstream directs a predetermine curtain of gas only down at the upper surfaces of the products at a predetermined pressure adequate to blow off liquid and loosened fines from the upper surfaces of the products.

  • Patent number: 5952015
Abstract: A device is provided for unloading a mold from the mold support surface of a concrete products producing machine and moving it to a remote mold replacement station, and then loading a replacement mold to the support surface of the machine. It incorporates a carriage supporting framework, a mold carriage transport system on the framework extending into the molding machine from the mold replacement station, which is mounted by the framework for vertical travel, and a mold transport carriage for moving from the replacement station along the transport system to a position juxtaposed vertically with the machine mold support surface. An actuatable mechanism interacts with the transport system for moving the transport system vertically relative to the carriage supporting framework from a remote support position aligned vertically with the mold to a mold support position in which the transport system can move the mold out of the machine.

  • Patent number: 5942181
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for molding and texturizing the upper surfaces of concrete products such as patio and paving stones following the steps of densifying and molding the concrete products and releasing them on pallets to a substantially horizontally traveling, longitudinally extending conveyor, then passing the concrete products continuously on the conveyor past an overhead force spraying station at a predesignated speed and directing a predetermined volumetric, overhead spray of liquid at a predetermined spray angle and pressure to progressively loosen some of the material and texturize the upper surfaces as the products move past the spraying station, and then before they have absorbed enough liquid to deleteriously affect their strength, either in the uncured or cured state, and, while they are continuing to travel along the conveyor, directing a flow of gas at the upper surfaces at a pressure to blow off the liquid and loosened material from the surfaces.
