Publication number: 20250100357Abstract: A tonneau cover assembly including a plurality of biasing pivots assisting and operably dampening the movement of a plurality of fabric management bows when moving the tonneau cover between a closed position and open position and back. Biasing pivots help to load the plurality of fabric management bows and, when the tonneau cover is opening, the bows manage the fabric. According to aspects of the present invention, at least two pairs of biasing pivots are biased away from each other to maintain tonneau cover fabric tension. At least one addition biasing pivot dampens the fall of the plurality of fabric management bows opening and also assists with the tonneau cover assembly's balance when closing and prevent binding.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2024Publication date: March 27, 2025Applicant: Bestop, Inc.Inventor: Tavis Lutzka

Publication number: 20250100358Abstract: Soft top assembly which is linkage free between fabric management bows. A combination of a predetermined plurality of pivots, including at least one predetermined cooperative biasing pivot, dampens the movement of the soft top and provides an assist when moving between closed and predetermined open positions. Safety catches can be used if desired. An arm goes over center to lock the soft top assembly open even if there is no catch to hold the soft top in a sunroof open position. Front arm members can have an over-center position that substantially locks down the soft top in the open sunroof position from going backward until upward pressure is placed on the frame and then the soft top pivots back with an assist. A four-bar link system more easily moves the soft top to a stowed position with another push upward where a clock spring pivot biases the parallelogram frame back.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2024Publication date: March 27, 2025Applicant: Bestop, Inc.Inventor: Tavis Lutzka

Patent number: 11752847Abstract: A door rail surround assembly incorporating an anti-rotation feature added to a door rail clamp of the assembly. The anti-rotation feature is a net fit cross vehicle with a hole in the vehicle sport bar thereby eliminating any free movement of the door rail clamp assembly. A second clamp is rotatable for also receiving a fastener of the door rail clamp. A clamp load is applied to the vehicle when the fastener is inserted and torqued to its predetermined value. This clamping load prevents any free movement in the door rail clamp assembly when the door seal load is applied when the vehicle door is closed.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2022Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Assignee: Bestop, Inc.Inventors: Stephen J.
