Patent number: 4643400Abstract: A trip-wire guiding device for a protective fence is described including an elongated member attachable to ground-anchoring means intermediate the fence poles and formed with a plurality of openings through which the tensioned trip-wire are passed for maintaining them in parallel space relationship. Each trip-wire is insertable into the opening via a passageway extending from the opening to the edge of the member. A common locking member is received in a channel extending longitudinally through the elongated member aligned with and passing through the passageways, the common locking member being effective to lock the trip-wires in their respective opening against removal through the passageways, but permits their longitudinal movement, such as to cause the detector means to be actuated upon a change in tension in the trip-wires, but to preclude disabling the detector means by merely fastening the tensioned trip-wires to the wire-guiding member or to the common locking member fixed thereto.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1980Date of Patent: February 17, 1987Assignee: Beta Engineering and Development Ltd.Inventor: Chaim Porat

Patent number: 4533906Abstract: A wire fence includes a plurality of wires tensioned at their opposite ends by ground-anchoring means each comprising a pair of vertical posts anchorable in the ground in spaced parallel relationship, and a diagonal post secured between the lower end of one vertical post and the upper end of the other, so that the diagonal post extends at an incline between the two vertical posts. The fence includes trip-wires secured to the diagonal post and freely movable in the longitudinal direction with respect to the vertical posts. The trip wires are connected to a detector which is actuated upon the disturbance of a trip wire.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1982Date of Patent: August 6, 1985Assignee: Beta Engineering & Development Ltd.Inventor: Yoel Amir

Patent number: 4500873Abstract: A taut wire intrusion detection system for a fence includes a testing device adapted to be actuated from a central station to apply a mechanical force to the fence wire in order to cause it to simulate an intrusion. The system further includes a testing circuit at the central station for actuating the testing device, and an indicator at the central station which receives the signal from the detector, and thereby indicates the actual response of the detector to the mechanical force.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1982Date of Patent: February 19, 1985Assignee: Beta Engineering & Development Ltd.Inventors: Chaim Porat, Yaacov Sadeh

Patent number: 4498404Abstract: Sewing apparatus includes a manipulator for manipulating the workpiece on the sewing table with respect to the sewing head, the manipulator including a first arm rotatably mounted to the main frame about a first vertical axis, a second arm rotatably mounted to the first arm about a second vertical axis, a manipulatable head rotatably mounted to the second arm about a third verticle axis, and a plurality of rotary motors for rotating the first and second arms and the manipulator head about their respective axes. The manipulator head is a suction head, and the table is formed with apertures for selectively applying either positive or negative fluid pressure to its upper face in order to selectively produce either suction for holding the workpiece, or an air cushion for facilitating moving the workpiece by the manipulator. According to a still further feature, the apparatus also includes a workpiece detector continuously monitoring the location of the edge of the workpiece with respect to the sewing head.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1982Date of Patent: February 12, 1985Assignee: Beta Engineering & Development Ltd.Inventor: Yaacov Sadeh

Patent number: 4493276Abstract: A pocket setter unit attachable to a sewing machine includes a holder for holding the pocket over the garment to which the pocket is to be fixed, the holder including a free space around the portion of the pocket to be stitched to the garment, and a plurality of folding blades disposed around the free space. Each of the folding blades includes an actuator for moving the respective blade from a retracted position along one side of the free space, to an extended position in the free space so as to fold under the respective edge of the pocket and to enable the sewing head to apply stitching through the folded edges in the free space for sewing the pocket to the garment.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1982Date of Patent: January 15, 1985Assignee: Beta Engineering & Development Ltd.Inventor: Yaacov Sadeh

Patent number: 4327596Abstract: A multi-axes positioning system is described, such as used in X-Y plotters, including an X-carriage movable on a frame along the X-axis, a Y-carriage movable on the frame along the Y-axis, and a single closed loop trained over a plurality of guide wheels. Some of the guide wheels are located on the frame on opposite sides of both the X- and Y-carriages, and others are located on the carriages themselves, on opposite sides thereof, and are arranged such that the single closed loop can be used for positioning the object along either two or three axes, according to single-motor, two-motor, or three-motor modes of operation.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 1980Date of Patent: May 4, 1982Assignee: Beta Engineering & Development Ltd.Inventor: Avi Simon
