Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a scrubber pressure vessel to a base. The scrubber has a skirt which is mounted directly onto the base. The base has two orthogonal longitudinal beams. The beams are oriented with respect to the pressure vessel such that the forces directed to the scrubber by its attached piping are parallel to one of the beams. The skirt is attached to the base on the longitudinal axes and the connections may vary in stiffness such that the natural frequencies of the system along both axes can be adjusted to avoid the operating frequency which would otherwise result in resonance.
Abstract: A field installable choke tube apparatus and a method for installing the choke tube into a pulsation dampener of a compressor. The choke tube is insertable into the pulsation dampener through the nozzle of the pulsation dampener. The supporting apparatus for the choke tube is located between the choke tube and the nozzle. The supporting apparatus is movable relative to the nozzle of the pulsation dampener thereby to firmly hold the choke tube within the dampener.
Abstract: A field installable choke tube apparatus and a method for installing the choke tube into a pulsation dampener of a compressor. The choke tube is insertable into the pulsation dampener through the opening between the nozzle and the pulsation dampener with a plurality of support arms in a retracted position. The support arms are extended after insertion of the choke tube to maintain the choke tube in a secure and predetermined position within the dampener.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for analyzing the operating condition of a machine, such as a reciprocating compressor (10), is provided. The method comprises testing for fluid flow across the closed suction and discharge valves (30-33), as well as leakage across the piston (16), when the machine is in a non-operating condition. The test apparatus may be removable attached externally to the machine by connection to the Kiene head end indicator cock (22) and the crank end indicator cock (24) or the apparatus may be built in internally of the machine.
Abstract: A nozzle assembly used for assisting in the diagnosis of cylinder condition. The nozzle assembly emits oil normal to the axis of the assembly about a 360 degree arc such that the cyclinder walls are more completely wetted with oil prior to diagnostic tests occuring such as leakage or flow rate and compression checks. A spinning nozzle provides enhanced oil emission.
