Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are provided for speech recognition. During operation, a database of words are maintained. Initially, a probability is assigned to each of the words which indicates a prevalence of use of the word. Further, an utterance is received for speech recognition purposes. Such utterance is matched with one of the words in the database based on least in part on the probability.
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are provided for tuning a speech recognition process. Initially, a database of utterances is maintained. Thereafter, information associated with the utterances is collected utilizing a speech recognition process. Further, the utterances in the database are transmitted to a plurality of users utilizing a network. As such, transcriptions of the utterances in the database may be received from the users utilizing the network. In use, the speech recognition process may be tuned utilizing the information and the transcriptions.
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are provided for handling unregistered callers in a voice recognition framework. Initially, it is determined whether a user is registered. If it is determined that the user is not registered, a registration process is executed. Once registered, utterances may be received from the user and recognized for the purpose of providing a service to the user.
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are provided for transitioning among states during use of a voice browser. Initially, a script is received at a voice browser from a web server utilizing a network. Next, the script is executed utilizing the voice browser. A plurality of states is then automatically tracked during the execution of the script utilizing the voice browser. Upon receiving a request from a user during the execution of the script to transition to a previous state, the voice browser automatically transitions to the previous state of the script.
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are disclosed for dynamically configuring a speech recognition portal. A session with a user is conducted utilizing a speech recognition portal which provides access to a network during the session. Utterances are received from the user during the session via the speech recognition portal. A speech recognition process is performed on the utterances to interpret the utterances. During the session, one or more aspects of the speech recognition portal are dynamically configured.

Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are afforded for providing a transcription graphical user interface. Initially, an utterance icon is displayed for prompting the emission of an utterance via a speaker upon the selection thereof. Further, a transcription field is depicted for allowing entry of a transcription of the utterance utilizing a keyboard. In use, the present transcription graphical user interface is displayed using hypertext markup language (HTML).
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for determining an address of an entity based on a user location are disclosed. An utterance representative of an entity is initially received from a user. The entity associated with the utterance is then recognized using a speech recognition process. Next, a location of the user is determined. A query is performed to identify a plurality of locations associated with the entity. Based on the results of the query and the location of the user, it is ascertained which of the identified locations associated with the entity are in proximity to the location of the user.

Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are provided for determining an area code during voice activated dialing. Initially, utterances are received from the user during a session via a speech recognition portal. Such utterances are indicative of a third party. A speech recognition process is then performed on the utterances to interpret the utterances. A phone number is then identified based on the utterances. It is then determined whether the phone number includes an area code. If it is determined that the phone number does not include an area code, the area code is inferred. The inferred area code may then be outputted to the user. The user is then prompted to confirm the inferred area code. The phone number is then dialed with the inferred area code upon the receipt of confirmation from the user.
