Patents Assigned to BHPH Company Limited
  • Patent number: 7863033
Abstract: There has been effort to develop a lactobacillus that would be useful as a probiotic, and to develop a lactobacillus which would colonize and proliferate in lesions of infection, eliminating the causal bacteria. This problem was resolved by developing a Lactobacillus casei species having the following key properties. (1) The species can be grown in the presence of any of one to four amino acids as a nitrogen source necessary for growth. (2) When a growth-promoting culture medium is inoculated with the species and Escherichia coli in the same count and subjected to anaerobic mixed culturing at 37° C., the final count of lactobacilli is 50% or more of the coliform count. (3) Upon cultivation in an appropriate culture medium, the final pH value is 4.0 or below, and the highest acidity is 1.5% or more. (4) The species is resistant to 5% bile salts. (5) The species produces an antibiotic.

  • Patent number: 7465576
Abstract: A method for treating periodontal disease by first disinfecting the affected part with a bactericidal disinfectant containing ferric ions (Fe+3) and L-ascorbic acid as the principal components and one or more of sorbic acid, benzoic acid and para-hydroxybenzoic acid esters, and then injecting a preparation containing a Lactobacillus casei into the affected part. Antibiotics are contained in the preparation, for enhancing the therapeutic effects.

  • Publication number: 20060034783
Abstract: A method for treating periodontal disease by first disinfecting the affected part with a bactericidal disinfectant containing ferric ions (Fe3+) and L-ascorbic acid as the principal components and one or more members of the group consisting of sorbic acid, benzoic acid and para-hydroxybenzoic acid esters, and then injecting a preparation containing a novel Lactobacillus casei into the affected part, wherein antibiotics are contained in the preparation, for enhancing the therapeutic effects.

  • Patent number: 6333188
Abstract: Although the inventors previously found that the novel species designated Lactobacillus clearans was highly effective for health purposes, they noted in particular that this species lacked sufficient intestinal purification action. Efforts to produce a species of higher potency and the like to remedy this drawback led to the unavoidable conclusion that the use of a bacterium by itself produced limited results. The concurrent use of another active substance was thus considered in seeking a lactic acid bacteria preparation capable of invigorating healthy individuals, and of renewing a sense of well being and restored health in semi-sick individuals or semi-healthy individuals. The invention relates to a lactic acid bacteria preparation, comprising viable cells of Lactobacillus clearans, and either or both of viable and killed cells of Enterococcus faecalis capable of reducing one or more of at least triglycerides and cholesterol.
