  • Patent number: 5351868
Abstract: A laminated pouch includes a layer of woven synthetic fabric, a layer of polyfoam and a layer of liner material, the layers being bonded together under heat and pressure. During the molding process selected areas of the laminate material is compressed under substantial heat and pressure to permanently deform the laminate into areas of substantially less thickness than uncompressed areas, the compressed areas being of substantial stiffness. The laminate is also formed with edges, and corners of substantial stiffness. The pouch is formed of two such laminate layers which are trimmed and fastened together at the edges. The resulting pouch retains its shape well and is not significantly deformed by the weight or pressure of its contents.

  • Patent number: 5246153
Abstract: An ambidextrous holster includes a pistol receiving pouch with an elongated sleeve on each side, each sleeve being lined with Velcro.RTM. loop material. Carried in one sleeve is a thumb break having Velcro.RTM. hook material on one end which joins with the Velcro.RTM. loop material in the sleeve to hold the thumb break securely in the sleeve. The pistol receiving pouch has two D-ring support members, one of which is carried in the same sleeve as the thumb break. The pistol receiving pouch is carried on one of two harness arrangements, one of which includes four straps, two of which carry the pistol receiving pouch and the other which carries a magazine pouch. The other harness includes a strap carried over the shoulder of the wearer. The pistol receiving pouch is reversible by placing a thin tool such as a butter knife into each sleeve, separating the Velcro.RTM.

  • Patent number: 5228609
Abstract: A fannypack is disclosed which includes a back support section to which a carry bag is attached including a semi-rigid plate of polyethylene which extends from below to substantially above a wearer's lumbar region and which includes a lumbar pad including a series of spaced polyfoam members which are molded to a stretchable fabric cover. Attached to the back support section are a pair of waistband members which also include spaced polyfoam members molded to a stretchable fabric cover. Belt members attached to the back support section secure the waistband members around the wearer and are fastened at the front with a quick release buckle. Additional straps attached at the bottom and top of the carry bag and passing through loop members anchored outboard on the belt members may be pulled up to further secure the carry bag against the wearer.

  • Patent number: 5168994
Abstract: A handgun storage container is disclosed comprising a box-like enclosure having a base and an operable cover. The container is dimensioned to hold a single handgun of any of a wide variety of types and sizes. A pair of handgun holding fixtures are adjustable located within the container for engaging a handgun at two spaced locations and to precisely locate the handgun within the container. A keyless lock is used to secure the cover from opening by unauthorized persons. The container is dimensioned to locate the handgun for storage or removal by grasping the grip of the handgun and thrusting it directly into the container and automatically engaging the holding fixtures.

  • Patent number: 5129562
Abstract: A holster for a handgun having a trigger guard is formed of material such as leather which is folded upon itself to make a pocket, with an opening at the top. The edges of the material are sewn together with a narrow strip of the material therebetween to increase the volume of the pocket. A pair of openings are located on opposite sides of the pocket adjacent the position of the trigger guard when the handgun is in the pocket. A latch member of low friction material having resilient arms and clamp members with inwardly extending projections is fastened in the holster such that the arms and clamp members extend through the openings. When the handgun is placed in the holster, the trigger guard pushes past the projections on the clamp members which then latch around the trigger guard securing the handgun in the holster.

  • Patent number: 4865238
Abstract: A holster which comprises a body of leather, leather-like or fabric material folded to define a pouch is described. The edge opening of the holster is closed by the spring of the invention. The spring lies, in part, between the outer body layer and an inner liner. The spring extends outside of, or is exposed to the holster body. The spring is secured to the holster by a suitable method such as a cover plate, a pair of rivets or an adhesive.

  • Patent number: 4815641
Abstract: A flap holster with the flap pivotally and removably secured to either side of an ambidextrious holster. The holster inlcudes an opening for the insertion and removal of a handgun and a transverse slot below the opening on each side. The flap is pivotally connected to one side of the holster and extends over the handgun opening. On the underside of the flap, an extensible strip is secured at one end to the flap and includes an end hook at the opposite end to engage one of the transverse slots and secure the flap in place. The extensible strap is preferably captured in a fabric tunnel in the underside of the flap. An inextensible flexible strap is secured at both ends to the extensible strap to limit its extension length to avoid over stressing its elastic properties. The hook is preferably a reverse directed tab dimensioned to slip into the transverse slot allowing the elasticity of the extensible strip to hold the flap closed.

  • Patent number: 4750656
Abstract: An ambidextrous holster designed for use on both wide web belts and narrower garrison type military belts. The holster body includes an outer layer defining two pair of slots on each side of the holster body. One pair of each side is located generally horizontally and one above the other. This pair is adapted to receive any suitable type of clip or vertically oriented fastener. The second set of slots on each side of the holster body extend generally vertically and are laterally spaced. The latter pairs of slots have lengths suitable for passing a belt therethrough to allow wearing of the holster directly on one size belt and via a clip or other fastener on belts of different sizes.

  • Patent number: 4645103
Abstract: An improved holster comprising a sheet of compressible material or a composite including a compressible layer formed into a pouch to hold a handgun with an edge seam at the rear. At the front inside of the holster is a stiffener member secured to the holster sheet material by at least one generally vertical stitch line. The stitch line distorts the compressible material and the stiffening member to form a front groove for receiving the barrel and front sight of the handgun. A protective sleeve may cover the stiffener. An improved universally adjustable strap arrangement includes hook and pile type fabric on an inner face of a belt loop formed in the holster body and the mating hook and pile material on one face of the flat strap. The angle and length of the strap may be adjusted by relative movement of the strap within the belt loop. Securement of one end of the strap results from engagement of the hook and pile fabric and is insured by pressure from the wearer's belt when worn.

  • Patent number: 4627558
Abstract: An ambidextrious military type holster designed for belt, leg, chest or shoulder carrying with or without a flap. The holster employs a layered body with the outer two layers defining pairs of horizontally disposed and vertically disposed slots on each major face of the holster adapted to receive a belt on either side through the horizontally disposed pairs of slots or a clip through the vertically disposed pairs of slots. The flap may be secured by the clip and includes an extensible strap and hook for securing the flap to the holster body by one of the slots. The clip includes a generally planar body defining a pair of facing opening catches at one end and a hinge at the opposite end. A resilient member forms the hinge pin of the hinge and includes a pair of resilient legs which are pivotal over the generally planar body and includes knee portions which engage the catches and define a belt or strap slot with the body. An extender strap allows the holster to be used as a leg holster.
