  • Patent number: 11077379
Abstract: The present system relates to a toy and play system that provides 360-degree play surfaces along with extendable play areas. Multiple embodiments of the toys may be arranged proximal to one another to create an extended play environment. The toys may be manipulated from a closed orientation to an open orientation that provides for horizontal and vertical play while maintaining stability of the toy.

  • Publication number: 20200233023
Abstract: A near-field capacitive data communication system that uses a variable capacitive device such as a PIN diode to change the capacitance of a conductive plate in response to either a high or low data signal. A detector attached to a second conductive plate that is in proximity to the first conductive plate measures the capacitance of the first conductive plate and outputs a corresponding data signal. The technique is wireless, since the two conductive plates are not in electrical contact with one-another, but rather share their static electric fields. A microcontroller can act as a detector by baselining the capacitance of the first conductive plate when its capacitance is in the low capacitance state. The technique is ideal for communication between a pair of toys that can be brought in close proximity to one-another. Since no radio frequencies are used, no special testing or governmental electromagnetic compatibility rules apply.

  • Patent number: 10039993
Abstract: A toy that has a pair of wheel-like members mounted on a central axle. The central axle is a ferrous metal rod with a pair of small permanent or other magnets attached to each end of the rod. The two magnets are positioned so that like poles face each other in opposition and face the center of the rod. A non-ferrous support plate such as a flat piece of wood with a metal strip on its edges forms a track. The magnets associated with the axle causes the toy to achieve the effect of clinging to the metal strip portions of the track. When the device is placed on the track, it will roll along the track under the force of gravity while magnetically clinging to the track in any horizontal or vertical position of the track.

  • Patent number: 9505530
Abstract: A food dispensing container having a removable dispensing member that includes a hinged flow gate configured to cover, in a closed position, a corresponding aperture in a bottom of a dispensing compartment of the dispensing member. The dispensing member also includes a hinged lid configured to cover a top of the dispensing compartment, the hinged lid having a notch that allows a range of rotation of the hinged flow gate when the hinged lid is in a closed position covering the top of the dispensing compartment and the rotation of the hinged flow gate opening the corresponding aperture when the food dispensing container is tilted from an upright position. The hinged lid and the hinged flow gate interlock, limiting the hinged flow gate to the closed position, when the hinged lid is in an open position uncovering the top of the dispensing compartment.

  • Patent number: 7780166
Abstract: A game for multiple players having an instruction unit and a plurality of game cards each having gameplay indicia disposed thereon. The instruction unit includes a mechanical number selection device, such as a Pop-O-Matic type die agitator, configured to randomly select one of a plurality of available numbers for the game, a first input device operatively connected to the mechanical number selection device and responsive to actuation of the mechanical number selection device, and a first output device, such as single or multicolored LEDs and/or a speaker. The instruction unit is actuated by a player actuating the mechanical number selection device and the detection of the actuation of the mechanical number selection device by the first input device.

  • Patent number: 7410170
Abstract: A multiplayer game in which players are dealt cards from a deck of game cards having indicia thereon corresponding to combinations typically used in the traditional Yahtzee game that are to be matched by the dice rolls of the players. During the course of a player's turn, the player actuates an instruction unit to start a timer setting a time limit within which the player rolls the dice multiple times in an effort to match one of the combinations on the cards in the player's hand. If the player matches a combination on one of the cards, the player actuates the instruction unit a second time to stop the timer and to receive a win instruction from the instruction unit. If the player does not match any of the combinations on the cards within the time limit, the instruction unit outputs a loss instruction to be followed by the player. The sequence may continue until one player has discarded all of the game cards in the player's hand onto the discard pile.

  • Patent number: 6918590
Abstract: A toy figure, such as a baseball player, which may or may not represent an actual identifiable person, is mounted upon a cylindrical base. Carried in the base is a rotatable disk having a grooved, serrated, knurled or otherwise textured outer peripheral wall. An arcuate access opening in the side wall of the base exposes a segment of at least the textured peripheral wall facilitating spinning or rotation of the disk by the user's thumb or finger. On the upper face of the disk, as disposed in the base, are a number of sectors, each of which contains indicia for determining an outcome in the play of a game. A viewing opening in the upper surface of the base permits viewing of a single sector on the disk.
