Abstract: The alignment guide assembly includes an alignment guide that is movable between an operative and an inoperative position on the tongue of a trailer without removing any of its parts. The alignment guide assembly also includes a stop bracket on the trailer hitch of a tow vehicle, and in its operative position, the alignment guide is capable of longitudinally aligning a hitch ball on the tow vehicle with a socket on the tongue of the trailer, of locating the hitch ball in vertical alignment with the socket, and of stopping downward movement of the trailer tongue when the socket is in position to be locked to the hitch ball.
