  • Patent number: 11891673
Abstract: A hot-shapable uncoated steel-plate workpiece is press hardened by first transporting the plate through a heating zone continuously or discontinuously and there heating the plate to an austenitizing temperature while blocking entry of oxygen into the heating zone. Then the heated plate is cooled in a cooling zone to a martensitizing temperature below the austenitizing temperature without contacting the heated plate with oxygen. Finally, immediately and without cooling of the cooled workpiece to a martensite start temperature, the cooled workpiece is deformed at least partially in a finishing press into a desired shape.

  • Patent number: 9506377
Abstract: A method and a configuration recover thermal energy in a thermal treatment of cold-rolled steel strip in an annealing furnace. The steel strip is heated up in a protective gas atmosphere to a temperature above the recrystallization temperature, and is subjected in a first, slow cooling phase and a second, fast cooling phase to a protective gas. The temperature of the protective gas is reduced during the first phase down to an intermediate temperature and in the second phase from the intermediate temperature to a final temperature. A first heat exchanger transfers the thermal energy of the protective gas by an oil circuit and a second heat exchanger to a working medium, and which evaporates and is fed to a steam motor, which converts the thermal energy contained in the working medium into energy.

  • Patent number: 9297585
Abstract: A hood-type annealing furnace for the thermal treatment of cold-rolled steel strip includes a base, a protective hood which can be placed on the latter and under which a protective gas heated by a gas burner is circulated by a blower, to heat the steel strip, rolled up particularly into a coil, under the protective hood to a temperature of at least 500° C. in a protective gas atmosphere. An electric heater fed by the public power network has a heating capacity correspondingly substantially to the heating capacity of the gas burner. The protective gas can be independently heated with the electric heater, alternatively to the gas burner, with the gas burner switched off, to a temperature above the recrystallization annealing temperature. A method for operating a hood-type annealing furnace is also provided.

  • Patent number: 9045829
Abstract: A process produces a coated metal strip from a semi-finished strip, in which the semi-finished strip is reeled off a coil. A corrosion protection layer is then applied to the semi-finished strip and the coated semi-finished strip is then reeled up to form a coil. The semi-finished strip is a cold-rolled strip obtained by cold rolling, cooling and recrystallization annealing. A medium containing metallic particles is applied to form the corrosion protection layer. The medium is a wet-chemical solution which is applied by spraying, dipping, squirting, flooding or rolling. The corrosion protection layer is dried on the cold-rolled strip by supplying heat at a temperature below the recrystallization annealing temperature of the cold-rolled strip after application of the medium and before reeling-up.

  • Patent number: 5810127
Abstract: A proportional valve for a hydraulic dashpot with a piston and cylinder. The piston travels back and forth in the cylinder on the end of a rod, accommodates pressure-dependent valves for hydraulic fluid to travel back and forth through during both the compression and decompression phases, separates the interior of the cylinder into two dynamics chambers, accommodates channels that provide a route for the fluid that actuates the valves to flow through directly, and accommodates a series of bypass channels. The bypass channels accommodate an electromagnetically actuated bolt. The bolt slides back and forth in the bypass channels, regulating how much fluid can flow through them. The end of each valve facing away from the direct-route channels accommodates a compartment for generating pressure in. Each pressure-generation compartment communicates through the bypass channels with the dynamics chamber on the other side of the piston.

  • Patent number: 5540309
Abstract: A regulable hydraulic dashpot for motor vehicles with a shock-absorption piston equipped with pressure-sensitive throttle valves traveling back and forth on the end of a piston rod inside a shock-absorption cylinder full of shock-absorbing fluid and dividing the cylinder into two displacement chambers. A gas-filled pressure-compensation chamber operates in conjunction with one displacement chamber. A shock-absorption performance-curve selection valve is positioned outside the cylinder and opens and closes a bypass. To create a hydraulic-fluid channel, the cylinder comprises two parts of different width between the two displacement chambers. One of the parts overlaps the other to the length of the stroke traveled by the piston and its open end is sealed tight to the outer part. The outer part is provided with two hydraulic-fluid conveying connections into the shock-absorption performance-curve selection valve.

  • Patent number: 5533598
Abstract: A hydraulic dashpot for motor vehicles. It essentially comprises a fluid-filled shock-absorbing cylinder alone or accommodated in an outer cylinder and a piston that travels back and forth inside the shock-absorbing cylinder on the end of a piston rod. The piston rod extends through a centering component at one end of the shock-absorbing cylinder or of both cylinders and the edge of the shock-absorbing cylinder or of the outer cylinder is crimped around the centering component. The object is to improve support of the pressure-impact accommodator. The crimping (4) creates a neck (5) at that end of the shock-absorbing cylinder (1) that the impact-absorbing cap (6) rests against.
