  • Patent number: 5913427
Abstract: A method for determining the purity of processed waste glass, in which the sample quantity is taken from the processed waste glass stream and is deposited preferably in one layer and is allowed to flow over a free-falling track and the foreign matter according to non-ferrous metals and opaque foreign particles are blown out and weighed according to a separate detection of said groups of foreign matter and for the determination of the quality of the sample the ratios of non-ferrous metal additions to the entire sample quantity and the opaque foreign particles to the entire sample quantity are determined, with said groups of foreign matter being jointly weighed continuously and the weight increases, depending on the group of foreign matter--non-ferrous metals or opaque foreign particles--which was detected immediately prior to the weight increase, being added to this group of foreign matter.

  • Patent number: 5788053
Abstract: Device for separating bodies with: a conveying device comprising at least one rim proceeding in the conveying direction; at least one guiding device which is permanently mounted at a distance which is significantly smaller than the dimensions perpendicular to the conveying device of the bodies to be separated, which guiding device comprises a deflector which forms an angle with the direction of movement of the conveying device; and a feeding position for the bodies. In order to allow a reliable separation of the bodies, it is provided that the deflector of the guiding device with its--viewed in the conveying direction--trailing edge ends at a distance before the nearest rim of the conveying device, so that an unobstructed conveying path for the bodies to be separated remains between the trailing edge of the deflector and the nearest rim of the conveying device.

  • Patent number: 5782364
Abstract: Device for separating a mixture of objects of flat dimension and objects of spatial dimension with a conveying device comprising at least one conveying carrier. The conveying device comprises two boundaries to which tangents proceeding in the conveying direction may be joined, and a feeding device for feeding a stream of objects to be separated to the conveying device substantially in one layer. In order to allow a reliable separation of foils and bodies of spatial dimension, it is provided that the conveying carrier is penetrable by air or that gaps for the passing through of air are provided between the conveying carriers. A surface tangent to the upper side of the conveying carrier(s) defines a line of intersection with a plane standing rectangularly to the conveying direction, which line forms an angle with the horizontal.

  • Patent number: 5590791
Abstract: An apparatus for sorting pieces of waste of materials having different properties comprises a disk revolving about a substantially vertical axis and comprising a conically upwardly and outwardly tapering rim defining a conveying path, which is concave in cross section, the rim constituting an outer guide wall, and a feeding device for feeding successive pieces to the revolving conveying path at a feeding station. The revolution of the conveying path generates a centrifugal force holding the pieces against the outer guide wall, and a sensor device is arranged along the conveying path for sensing the different properties of the successive pieces. Devices controlled by the sensor device remove single pieces at discharge stations dependent on the sensed properties of the pieces.

  • Patent number: 5456127
Abstract: A method for determining the purity of treated used glass, in which the sample quantity is taken from the treated used glass stream and the foreign bodies still contained therein, separated according to non-ferrous metals and opaque foreign materials such as ceramic and porcelain particles and stones, are sorted out, weighed and put in relation to the weight of the whole sample. In order to be able to analyze a sample in a simple manner, it is provided that the sample is piled in one layer and allowed to trickle over a free-falling path and that foreign bodies made from non-ferrous metals are blown out and thereafter opaque foreign bodies are blown out and collected in containers separate from the non-ferrous metals.
