Abstract: The object of the invention comprises food compositions, to which one or more acetaldehyde-binding compounds are added. The purpose of the compositions is to reduce the amount of detrimental acetaldehyde in the area of the mouth, the pharynx, the oesophagus, the stomach, and the small and large intestines, and through this, to reduce the risk of developing cancers in these areas.

Abstract: The object of the invention is a method for correcting a temperature dependent dispensing error occurring during liquid dispensing, such as pipetting, as well as a liquid dispensing device, such as a pipette, having a higher degree of accuracy. According to the method the dispensing takes place by means of two chambers connected to each other over a gas passage. The first chamber communicates, in addition to the gas passage, with the liquid to be dispensed, and the second chamber is gas tight except for the gas passage. In order to receive liquid in the dispensing device, the volume of the second chamber is increased, resulting in gas flowing therein from the first chamber, and in turn, liquid to be dispensed flowing into the first chamber until a pressure equilibrium between the chambers has been reached.

Abstract: A pipette, comprising a plurality of side-by-side cylinders (1) with plungers (2) and seats (4) for attaching tip pieces to the pipette, and an operating member (5), to which the plungers are connected for moving them with the aid of an operating means (6) connectable to said operating member, said operating member (5) being fork-like and comprising a stem (7), a coupling member (8) connected to the stem and plunger rods (3) connected to the coupling member. The plungers are made of resilient material and are elastically connected to the plunger rods.

Abstract: A pipette for emptying liquid and filling with liquid includes a body housing an adjustment mechanism disposed to limit movement of the plunger, the adjustment mechanism being locked with a locking member elastically urged against a notched circle. The notched circle and the adjustment mechanism are rotatable while the locking member is non-rotatably connected to the body. When locked, the locking member rests in the notches of the notched circle, allowing for desired adjustment but preventing inadvertent adjustment of the pipette. A method for locking the pipette is also disclosed.
