  • Publication number: 20040093239
Abstract: The invention is a central server configured to control the receipt and analysis of patient medical data and patient information. The central server controls access to the patient medical data by an analysis workstation that is responsive to a medical specialist. The analysis workstation analyzes the patient medical data and prepares a medical report associated with the patient medical data. The central server comprises a first communication interface for receiving patient medical data and patient information from a remote computer and for transmitting the medical report associated with the patient medical data to the remote computer. A storage system stores the received patient medical data, patient information, and the associated medical report. A processor is configured to control access to and analysis of the patient medical data by the analysis workstation and the medical specialist and is configured to control access to the medical report.

  • Patent number: 6655377
Abstract: The configuration and arrangement of the instrument greatly facilitate safe placement of the instrument and an associated endotracheal tube. The instrument includes a handle with an arm extending therefrom. The arm includes a base portion and a distal lifter portion preferably having an angle between 5° and 85°, inclusive, and the lifter is sized and shaped to engage or lift the patient's epiglottis, thereby to expose the glottis. In a preferred embodiment, the base portion and lifter portion are substantially the same length, and a viewing device, which is preferably a Charged Coupled Device (“CCD”) or Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (“CMOS”) camera positioned near the transition portion between the base and lifter portions, is aligned to provide a perspective view toward the distal end of the lifter. Lights, which are preferably LED units, are positioned toward the distal end of the lifter to facilitate viewing.

  • Patent number: 5997564
Abstract: A femoral arterial or venous compression device for post-catheterization hemostasis includes a supporting frame (base (1), shaft (2) and arm (4)), and an inflatable unit (carriage (6), bellows (7), disk (8), and pad (9)). The supporting frame is fixed on the human body in line with the incision site in order to bring the pad (9) exactly over and in touch with the latter. The bellows (7) are inflated thus compressing the incision site with the pad (9) for all the time needed to reach complete hemostasis. The pressure on the incision remains constant during the compression period and can be regulated and monitored using a medical sphygmomanometer.

  • Patent number: 5398183
Abstract: A system used by a technician for evaluating a Holter ECG tape having a signal representing a series of waveforms thereon and for generating a report reflecting the evaluation. A tape reader generates from the ECG tape an analog signal representative of the ECG waveforms recorded on the tape. An A/D converter converts the analog signal into a digital signal. A computer including a data bus, a memory, a processor controls the operation of the system. A display displays waveforms representing the ECG. A storage device is connected to the data bus. A direct memory access device moves the digital signals from the converter to the memory for storing the digital signal in the storage device. The converter provides at least a 12 bit a digital signal corresponding to the analog signal and includes means for converting the 12 bit digital signal to an 8 bit digital signal.

  • Patent number: 5179019
Abstract: The present invention relates to a monoclonal antibody which is broadly reactive with all normal human peripheral blood mononuclear cells and granulocyte, and to the hybridoma cell line which produces this monoclonal antibody. This monoclonal antibody is designated WM-65 and the hybridoma cell line is designated F56-1D5 (ECACC 89033001). This monoclonal antibody reacts with a previously unrecognized human leucocyte surface membrane antigen. The relative molecular mass of the antigen recognized by WM-65 is approximately 40-50 Kilodaltons.

  • Patent number: 5158885
Abstract: The prevent invention relates to two monoclonal antibodies which are broadly reactive with all normal human peripheral blood T and B lymphocytes and monocytes and to hybridoma cell lines which produce these monoclonal antibodies. These monoclonal antibodies are designated WM-66 and WM-63 and the respective hybridoma cell lines are designated F56-2D7 (ECAC 88101104) and F56-4D6 (ECACC 88101103). Both of these monoclonal antibodies react with a previously unrecognized human leucocyte differentiation antigen. The relative molecular mass of the antigen recognized by WM-66 is approximately 65 kilodaltons.

  • Patent number: 5134057
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of providing a substrate with a layer comprising a polyvinyl base hydrogel and a biochemically active material by photolithograhy, comprising coating the substrate by centrifugal force with an aqueous solution of a photosensitive hydrogel forming polymer, a crosslinking agent and a biochemically active material, drying said coating, exposing the coated substrate through a photomask to ultraviolet radiation and developing said exposed coating, which is characterized by applying to the substrate an aqueous solution comprising as the cross-linking agent a polyazonium compound and glutardialdehyde. Because of this specific combination of cross-linking agents superior properties with respect to the binding of the biochemically active material are obtained.
