Abstract: The invention is applicable within the food and pharmaceutical industry. More specifically, it relates to a novel strain of the species Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis CECT 8145, the cell components, metabolites and secreted molecules thereof, which, incorporated into food and/or pharmaceutical formulations, can be used in the treatment and/or prevention of excess weight and obesity and related diseases such as metabolic syndrome, hypertension, glycemia, inflammation, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, hypercholesterolemia, hormonal alterations, infertility, etc.
Abstract: The present invention is intended for the use of a probiotic composition comprising Bifidobacterium animalis subs. lactis (B. lactis), Bifidobacterium longum and Lactobacillus rhamnosus, in particular the strains B. lactis CECT 8145, B. longum ES1 CECT 7347 and/or L. rhamnosus CECT 8361, in the treatment and/or prevention of psoriasis outbreaks or psoriasis.

Abstract: The invention relates to the use of Lactobacillus rhamnosus strain CNCM 1-3690 for reducing body fat accumulation and treating disorders resulting therefrom, such as overweight, obesity, and obesity-related disorders.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing 2,3-butanediol using improved strains of Raoultella planticola, and to novel mutant strains obtained by random mutagenesis from the bacterial species Raoultella planticola CECT843, that can be used in the industrial production of 2,3-butanediol from glycerol. The invention preferably relates to the Raoultella planticola strains designated IA1 and IIIA3 and deposited in the Spanish Type Culture Collection (CECT) under deposit number CECT8158 (corresponding to the strain designated IA1) and deposit number CECT8159 (corresponding to the strain designated IIIA3). The invention also relates to a method for producing 2,3-butanediol from glycerol by means of a biotechnological process using the novel strains of the invention.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the production of bioactive products from raw plant matter, namely cocoa extracts. The said products have one or more biopeptides with prolyl endopeptidase (PEP) enzyme inhibitory activity in vitro and/or antioxidant and/or antineurodegenerative capacity in vivo and can be used in dietetics and in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
Abstract: The present invention relates to obtaining bioactive peptides from plant raw materials, specifically cocoa extracts, by means of enzyme treatment. Said biopeptides have angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) and prolyl endopeptidase enzyme (PEP) inhibitory activity in vitro and/or antioxidant activity in vivo, being able to be used in the food, dietetic and pharmaceutical industry.
