Abstract: An intestinal catheter is inserted into the gastrointestinal tract by use of a guide wire and performs the functions of aspirating the stomach and feeding the small intestine. A feeding lumen communicates with an opening in the downstream end of the catheter. The guide wire can be inserted in the feeding lumen of the catheter when emplacing the catheter into a patient's gastrointestinal tract.
