Abstract: A data storage device comprises a multichannel flash memory assembly which is constructed by stacking of flash memory members. The data storage device is compact due to the use of stacked flash memory members which provides high speed performance due to its multiple data channel arrangement. A specific example is the use of a flash memory assembly comprising 4 stacked flash memory dies with 4 parallel data channels. This invention is advantageous because it provides a data storage device having a high data storage capability at high data transfer rates while maintaining a compact construction due to the high-rise stacked architecture.
