Abstract: There is disclosed a novel process to form a water-absorbing sheet by extruding an aqueous solution of superabsorbing polymer as a fibrous stream onto a high velocity, hot fibrous stream of melt-blown fibers of thermoplastic polymer, causing entanglement of the fiber and forming a superabsorbent non-woven mat free of dusting problems.
