Patent number: 9164362Abstract: A swivel tether for attaching a camera via a cord to an object, the swivel tether including a side release buckle system having a ball joint connection that allows for 360 degree swivel functionality. This permits the camera to rotate freely without adding tension or twisting of the cord attached thereto and without causing a threaded connection between an end of the cord and the camera to become unthreaded due to rotation of the camera. The ball joint connection may be configured in the plug connection component of the side release buckle system. The side release buckle system also includes a slide lock switch operative to lock plug and socket portions of the buckle system together to prevent unintentional release of the buckle system when fastened.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2013Date of Patent: October 20, 2015Assignee: BLACK RAPID, INC.Inventors: Ronald Dean Henry, Nancy S. Riemer, Robert Gerald Carrasca, Tyler C. Swain

Publication number: 20120014686Abstract: An enhanced camera transport system and method includes a strap and coupler. The coupler is configured to engage with an attachment point on a camera otherwise reserved by engagement with a camera stand such as a tripod, monopod, or the like. Following general camera construction, the attachment point is found on the bottom of the camera. In some implementations, the coupler is slideably attached to the strap to assist with repositioning of the camera from a transport position to a picture taking position. Other implementations include an enclosure for storage of the camera while not being used.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2011Publication date: January 19, 2012Applicant: BLACK RAPID, INC.Inventors: Tyler R.M.
