  • Patent number: 11765366
Abstract: Methods, software products, digital cameras and other image processing systems process a set of transform coefficients. In at least one embodiment, the method comprises, for each block of transform coefficients representing an image: ordering the block's coefficients into a sequence; encoding the ordered coefficients to yield a sequence of codewords, each codeword including one or more encoded coefficients; and dividing the sequence of codewords into two or more sub-sequences.

  • Patent number: 11632525
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a filter array and to a method for processing image data in a camera. The camera is configured to receive light and generate image data using an image sensor having an associated filter array. The image sensor includes an array of pixels, each of which corresponds to a filter element in the filter array, so that each pixel has a spectral response at least partly defined by a corresponding filter element. The filter array includes a pattern of wideband filter elements and at least two types of narrowband filter elements. The method includes the step of generating a luminance image comprising a wideband filter element value that is calculated for each pixel of the image sensor.

  • Patent number: 11153468
Abstract: A method of processing image data that is represented in a frequency domain includes the step of applying a noise signal to the image data to yield noise-applied image data. In at least one embodiment, the image data includes one or more sets of coefficients arising from application of a discrete cosine transform, each set of coefficients comprising a DC coefficient and one or more AC coefficients. The noise signal is applied to the image data by modifying one or more of the coefficients in one or more of the sets. The modifying includes replacing one or more of the AC coefficients with random or pseudo random numbers having a distribution. Noise present in the image data may be equalized, prior to the step of applying the noise signal.

  • Patent number: 10855870
Abstract: A digital video camera, including a heat management system, which includes at least one inlet and at least one outlet in the housing to enable air to flow through the housing. The heat management system also includes a first heat sink thermally connected to an image sensor(s), and a second heat sink thermally connected to a data processing unit(s), and a centrifugal fan. The centrifugal fan is configured to draw air into the front of the fan in an axial direction and push air radially out in a sideways direction, whereby air travels through the inlet(s) over the first heat sink and then over the second heat sink to the outlet(s).

  • Patent number: 10681249
Abstract: Digitization of film, and more particularly film scanning, includes capturing light transmitted through the film so as to acquire a digitized image. This includes a captured frame comprising a digitized image of at least a portion of at least one image frame of a sequence of image frames, and at least a portion of one or more transport perforations. The method can further include determining an image offset corresponding to at least the captured frame on the basis of a comparison between at least one detected edge in the captured image and a corresponding datum location. A signal representing the image offset can be generated to enable alignment of at least the captured frame.
