Abstract: Printed circuit board assembly apparatus comprises means for supporting a printed circuit board for assembly of components on one side of the board by inserting leads of the components into corresponding holes formed in the circuit board at predetermined locations, light projecting means for illuminating from the one side of the board the holes intended to receive the leads of a selected component and cutting means for cropping and crimping the leads of the component projecting from the other side of the board after assembly of the component on the board, the cutting means comprising a pair of cutters mounted on a rotatable carrier for linear movement in a pitch direction and each having a nip to be aligned with a corresponding hole in the board prior to the insertion of a corresponding component lead.
