Abstract: A plug-in is one of 1) installed or 2) caused to be installed in the browser of a web surfer. The plug-in is configured to allow information to be dynamically 1) added to, 2) modified in, and 3) any combination of the two, the area of the browser containing a user-selectable button by the action of the plug-in. The user-selectable button is displayed in the area of the webpage. The button can include graphic information and a text label. The button is configured to 1) direct the browser to at least one web site corresponding to the text label, 2) direct the browser to content related links to the content that is on the website being browsed, and 3) any combination of both. A third party server site may dynamically control what graphic information, text label, or both is being displayed for that user-selectable button.

Abstract: Various methods, apparatuses, and systems are described for a moving thumbnail generator. The moving thumbnail generator generates one or more moving thumbnails that are visually and aurally representative of the content that takes place in an associated original video file. Each of the moving thumbnails has two or more moving frames derived from its associated original video file. Each moving thumbnail is stored with a relational link back to the original video file in order so that the moving thumbnail can be used as a linkage back to the original video file.

Abstract: A system to pair advertisements with media files is described. A request is processed to find one or more relevant advertisements and determine when to display each relevant advertisement at a temporally contextual point within a video file when the video file is played on a web page. The video file's key concepts and timing information are retrieved from a database. A request is generated for advertisements that contextually match the content in the key conceptual points found in the content of the video file. The timing information is retrieved regarding when the key conceptual points, relevant to returned advertisements that contextually match, chronologically appear in the video file. Contextual relevant advertisements are supplied with temporal information on when the placement of advertisements is most contextually relevant to the content being played in the video file.

Abstract: An advertisement player is described that embeds on a web page having a video player, which is hosted on a first server. The advertisement player is configured to make a call to and send information associated with a video file about to be played on the web page across a network to a contextual engine hosted on a second server. The contextual engine analyses the content of the video file to be played on the video player and content of two or more advertisements from two or more advertisement networks and sends back one or more advertisements to display with the video file as the video player plays the video file on the web page. The contextual engine pairs the one or more advertisements with the video file based on at least a best match of relevance of the one or more advertisements to content in the video file.
