Abstract: A POS platform includes a substantially closed housing adapted to be seated on top of an associated cash drawer, with a first opening that is sized to receive the PC. The housing also has at least one second opening for permitting passage of cables between the PC and the peripherals. A top support is provided that has an upper surface with discrete areas for supporting the peripherals and at least one hole therein to permit passage of the cables between the peripherals and the PC. A hinge is provided for connecting the top support to the housing to permit the top support to pivot with respect to the housing, thus facilitating access to the PC and the cables connecting the PC and the peripherals.

Abstract: The invention comprises a ventilator for a glass block window that includes a window frame, a window sash pivotably mounted in the window frame and a screen also pivotably mounted in the window frame. The window sash is pivotable between a closed position and an open position such that when the window sash is in the open position, rain and snow and the like are resisted from passing through the ventilator and into the building which has the glass block window. The invention also encompasses providing a ventilator as described above without the screen. Finally, a screen for a window is also provided. The screen is pivotably mounted to the window frame of the window. This screen can be used not only for the ventilator but also for other types of windows.

Abstract: A retaining wall block that includes three textured outer face surfaces and can be divided into a pair of sub-blocks of different sizes that are configured to be compatible with each other for use in the construction of a retaining wall having a random appearance. The retaining wall block has three textured outer face surfaces of varying lengths and when the retaining wall block is separated into its sub-blocks, each of the sub-blocks define two additional textured face surfaces of different lengths. The main retaining wall block is capable of creating individual wall blocks having one of six different face surface lengths.

Abstract: A key cabinet having a frame that defines an interior chamber with at least one panel attached within the interior chamber as well as a door attached to and overlying the frame. The door pivots away from the frame in an opposite direction than the panels to provide the user with simultaneously access to multiple panels as well as the door. In addition, a rail having grooves is provided that may be manufactured in a cost effective manner with a key releasably engaged with a corresponding groove.

Abstract: A book holder system comprising first and second book ends, each bookend having a substantially planar vertical surface for engaging at least one object such as a book, or the like, that is to be held between the bookends. Each bookend has a horizontal leg that underlies the objects to be held between the vertical surfaces. The horizontal legs of the first and second bookends have complimentary-shaped interlocking projections and recesses. The projections permit disengagement of the first bookend from the second bookend only when the first and second bookends are moved in a vertical direction with respect to each other.

Abstract: A masonry system including three types of different individual masonry blocks that can be stacked to form recessed horizontal and vertical belts in a wall formed from the masonry blocks. The masonry system includes a horizontal block having a decorative band extending horizontally along a front face surface of the horizontal block. The horizontal decorative band is recessed from the front face surface. The masonry system further includes a vertical block having a decorative band extending vertically in the front face surface of the vertical block. The vertical decorative band is recessed from the front face surface. The masonry system further includes an intersect block having both a horizontal decorative band and a vertical decorative band joined to each other. The intersect block can be positioned to provide the required transition between horizontal and vertical belts formed in a wall assembled by using the masonry system of the present invention.

Abstract: A lock-down security box including a security box and a lock-down plate. The lock-down security box is adapted to be detachably anchored to a mounting surface such as a table, wall or the like. The lock-down plate is fixed to a mounting surface by inserting fasteners through apertures extending through the plate. The lock-down plate includes a first anchoring member and a bolt-receiving slot extending therethrough. The security box includes a top panel which is pivotally mounted to one of the side panels of the box. The top panel includes a first lock set associated therewith for providing controlled access to the enclosure of the security box. The bottom panel of the security box includes a second anchoring member mounted thereon. The bottom panel further includes a bolt-passage slot extending therethrough which is adapted to receive a deadbolt of a second lock set mounted to one of the side panels of the box.

Abstract: The present invention provides a security locking bag for holding currency and coin comprising a fabric bag open along one side, the open side of the bag having a lock end and a zipper end. A zipper is attached to the fabric bag along the open side of the bag to allow the open side of the bag to be closed by pulling a sliding piece. A lock is positioned at the lock end of the open side of the bag, the lock including a body portion and locks by capturing and retaining the sliding piece. A flexible reinforcing material is folded over onto itself, to straddle the bag at the lock end of the bag. A rigid reinforcement shield is disposed between the sides of the flexible reinforcing material. The rigid reinforcement shield is sized and shaped to conform to the size and shape of the body portion of the lock and is positioned to hold one side of the flexible reinforcing material tightly against the body portion of the lock.

Abstract: A structural block useful in constructing a wall for absorbing sound. The structural block includes a pair of internal cavities which are separated by a center wall. A pair of angled front walls are positioned along the front surface of the structural block. The block further includes a pair of acoustical openings. The first acoustical opening is located in the center wall, while the second acoustical opening is located in one of the end walls. Each of the pair of acoustical openings provides a path for sound to travel from the exterior of the structural block into the pair of internal cavities, where the sound is dampened. Preferably, the structural block contains a pair of retaining grooves on each of the end walls and on each side of the side wall to retain a sound attenuator which can be positioned within each of the internal cavities.

Abstract: One of the hand wheel and the brake ratchet wheel is provided with a cover portion extending toward the other thereof and having a circular peripheral surface which covers the lining plate, and the other of the hand wheel and the brake ratchet wheel is provided with a circular opposite peripheral surface opposed to the circular peripheral surface, so that opposite peripheral surfaces of those circular peripheral surfaces can be arranged adjacently to each other or have a scaling member interposed therebetween. Therefore, even when dust and rainwater enter a wheel cover for a hand wheel, these dust and rainwater can be prevented from further entering a mechanical brake.

A spring (19) for energizing the operation handle (18) toward the driving member (8) is provided to bring inclined surface (31a) of the engaging projection (31) provided on the operation handle (18) into elastic contact with an engaging stepped portion (37) of the driving member (8) during the time when the mechanical brake (13) is being operated, whereby the driving member (8) can be prevented from being reversely rotated while being accompanied by a returning operation of the operation lever (16) by the engaging resistance of a feed click (14) during the time when a hoist and traction operation is being conducted under the no-load condition.
