  • Patent number: 11118325
Abstract: A subsea trencher for arranging at least partly into the seabed a subsea pipeline, includes at least one cart that separately carries at least one trench tool and is configured to run along the subsea pipeline. trench tool is configured to work the seabed underneath the subsea pipeline. A subsea support frame carries heavy subsea equipment connected to the trench tool for operating the trench too. When the subsea support frame is fixed to the cart, the subsea trencher is configured to load the assembled weight of the cart and subsea support frame onto the subsea pipeline as the subsea trencher runs on the subsea pipeline. When the subsea support frame is separate from the cart, the subsea support frame is configured to be suspended above the seabed or arranged beside the subsea pipeline at a distance from the subsea pipeline as the cart runs along the subsea pipeline.

  • Patent number: 10774949
Abstract: Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV) suppression strakes, in particular VIV suppression strakes are arranged on subsea pipelines. A VIV suppression strake assembly includes a strake fin support shell that is configured to be arranged against the outer surface of a section of pipe and at least one strake fin having a fin tip and a fin base. The strake fin support shell includes an aperture that is configured for inserting the fin therein, and the fin is provided at the fin base with an anchor, which anchor is configured for engaging the fin support shell on the pipe side of the aperture. The aperture is a slot dimensioned to allow the fin to be inserted in the slot from the pipe side of the slot with the fin tip leading until the fin base engages the shell.

  • Patent number: 10239734
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for lowering a subsea structure to be installed on the seabed into the water through the splash zone, said subsea structure comprising subsea equipment arranged on a substantially flat support base for preventing the subsea equipment to sink into the seabed. The method according to the invention comprises: lifting the subsea structure into the air in a horizontal position in which the flat support base extends substantially parallel to the horizontal plane; tilting the subsea structure while suspended in the air from the horizontal position into a tilted position in which the flat support base is angled with respect to the horizontal plane; lowering the subsea structure into the water through the splash zone in the tilted position; and tilting the subsea structure while suspended in the water below the splash zone back into the horizontal position.
