Abstract: A packing machine for packing articles into a packing box comprises a packing box conveyor for conveying packing boxes with the bottom side supported on the packing box conveyor and an open top side directed upward; and an article conveyor for conveying articles, which is arranged adjacent and alongside the packing box conveyor. A pick-and-place arrangement picks articles from the article conveyor to place the articles in a parallel orientation into a packing box that is conveyed on the packing box conveyor, wherein the parallel orientation is an orientation of an article within the packing box which is parallel to an orientation of an article conveyed on the article conveyor.

Abstract: Transfer assembly for transferring large numbers of products from a supply conveyor to a further position, such as one or more discharge conveyors. It is proposed to use a number of pick-and-place robots to this end, wherein the adjacent operating ranges are positioned along a line, which line extends at a small angle to the conveying direction. Preferably, the discharge conveyor extends parallel to the line and crosses the supply conveyor and is situated above it. In this way, it is possible to transfer large numbers of products using a limited number of transfer robots and to guarantee that all products are removed from the supply conveyor.

Abstract: Cassette system with cassette (17, 27, 37, 47) and method for grouping a number of flexible packs (10). It is proposed that the cassette be produced from two parts which are hinged with respect to one another, one or more flexible packs being placed in each part. The parts of the cassette with the flexible pack or flexible packs placed thereon are then moved relative to one another, and more particularly are rotated, in order thus to obtain a group of packs where the packs lie close together. The group thus obtained is then placed in an outer pack such as a box.

Abstract: Device and method for filling a carton with flexible articles. Individual articles are grouped to a vertical stack and entered in a cassette in which the stack is tightly received. The cassette is closed on all sides and after removing of the opening the stack of bags will gently drop in a carton being positioned below. According to a further aspect of the invention the device is arranged to provide both horizontal and vertical stacking of bags in cartons by replacing the cassette by a carton which is subsequently tilted.

Abstract: Method and assembly for filling a box with relatively flexible bags, such as snack food bags of relatively small size. Two rows of bags are horizontally placed adjacent to each other. A number of groups or rows can be vertically placed above each other in a box. To that end first of all a cassette is filled by transferring bags having a fixed spacing and lowering them in a cassette. After the cassette is filled, it is closed at its upper side and in lateral direction emptied.

Abstract: Assembly and method for collecting together different goods to form a pack and to pack these in an outer packaging. Streams of goods are always fed to a collection conveyor with feed conveyors. Each stream consists of the same goods and these are buffered at the discharge end of the feed conveyor. At a suitable point in time these are placed on the collection conveyor using an ejection device. The collection conveyor consists of a number of track compartments that move past the conveyor. A group of goods placed one after the other is arranged in each track compartment, which group is ultimately compacted to give a pack.

Abstract: Method and device for packing bags filled with product in a box. The bags are made gas-permeable and after the bags have been filled with product the residual volume of gas therein is removed by drawing off the gases present in the bag by means of suction. This is achieved by conveying the bags over a belt on which vacuum is acting. Prior to this step the bags can be subjected to a vibratory treatment in order to optimise the position of the product in the bags.
