    Abstract: An apparatus and method for hand washing is disclosed. In some embodiments, a hand washing device includes a body graspable by a user; at least one of a speaker, light and vibration mechanism disposed in the body; and a washing surface attached to the body. In some embodiments, the hand washing device alerts the user with the at least of the speaker, light and vibration mechanism to entice people to wash their hands, and to enhance engagement and focus during hand washing.
