  • Patent number: 6976429
Abstract: A method for tightening an embossing plate ring on a chuck of a rotary embossing press, wherein the chuck is intended to be connected to a heater for leading the embossing plate ring to a working temperature. Between the chuck and the embossing plate ring is a split transmission ring made of a material having an expansion coefficient which is higher than that of materials used for the chuck and the embossing plate ring to cause the blocking of the embossing plate ring onto the chuck at the working temperature of the embossing plate ring.

  • Patent number: 6845979
Abstract: An independent motor/reductor drives a conveyance device that feeds a converting press. The converting press includes a number of stations including a feeding station, a converting station, a waste stripping station and a delivery station. The conveyance device services the stations and includes two endless gripper bar chains to convey sheet material through the converting press. A transverse drive shaft drives the conveyance device under the control of the independent motor/reductor. The independent motor/reductor provides motion trajectories for the conveyance device that are independent of, but synchronized with, the serviced stations. The arrangement improves throughput, reduces machine wear and results in a simplified design.

  • Publication number: 20040251176
Abstract: Method and apparatus for checking the quality of blanks processed with a machine processing blanks of at least a certain type, comprising: carrying out a registering for said possible blank types, feeding a register parameter (n) defining a required number of blanks per pile, loading a pile of blanks into a device, conveying the blanks of the pile throughout a registering area ensuring the scanning of the printing and/or diecutting quality of said blanks, defining which type the registered blank is the better related, stripping the blank if it has printing and/or diecutting defects, and piling up the registered blanks that were not stripped so as to pile up a new pile until it comprises n blanks, and repeating the steps, and apparatus for the foregoing.

  • Patent number: 6588582
Abstract: The braking device comprises at least one flexible braking means (1) extending across the trajectory of the sheets (2) and mounted so as to pivot around a transverse axis (4) so that its trajectory around the axis intersects the trajectory of the sheets (2), the direction of rotation of the end of the flexible braking means (1) and intersecting the trajectory of the sheets (2) being opposite the direction of motion of the sheets, and also comprises drive means for pivoting the braking means (1) in dependence on the longitudinal dimensions of the sheets (2) and the frequency with which they pass. The means driving the braking means (1) around the transverse axis (4) comprise a variable-speed electromagnetic actuator (5) connected to control means which in real time record the parameters relating to the longitudinal dimension of the sheets and the frequency with which they pass.

  • Patent number: 6213676
Abstract: This device comprises devices (11-13) for securing tools (10) to a supporting and heating plate (3). The heat exchange surface of the supporting and heating plate (3) is continuous, the securing devices (11-13) being arranged to permit securing of each of these tools (10) in any position within an adjusting range determined on the surface of the supporting and heating plate (3). This permits adjusting the position of, the securing the tools (10) to the supporting and heating plate (3). This device also comprises devices (7-9) for positioning the supporting and heating plate (3) on a removable frame (1) of a press for hot transfer of portions of metallic films onto a paper or cardboard substrate.

  • Patent number: 4332124
Abstract: A device for delivering and packaging folded boxes, which are folded and glued in a folder-gluer, comprises a first conveyor for receiving a flow of folded boxes in an overlapping shingled relationship for a delivery station and conveying the flow of boxes without changing any lateral position of the boxes to a second conveyor at which the flow is converted into a stack-like flow moving in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the folded boxes. The second conveyor terminates in a filling device and a coacting intermittently driven roller. A third conveyor for introducing the positioning packaging containers is disposed beneath the second conveyor and is mounted for movement both transverse and along the direction of movement of the second conveyor and vertically thereto. The device also includes a removing conveyor which comprises a roller conveyor mounted for movement between a level position to a slant position to enable ejecting a filled container from the device by gravity.

  • Patent number: 4266864
Abstract: The character disc of the photocomposing machine has a "sandwich" construction in which the characters are located close to one another on a piece of film which is "sandwiched" between two glass plates. The thickness of this construction is such that the mask would have to be located very precisely in order to select only one character. The mask device consists of a pair of shields, a front shield located between the flash lamp and the spinning disc character matrix, and a rear shield between the matrix and the character magnification lens system. Preferably, the shields are close to the matrix and are fastened together. Each shield has an aperture. The aperture in the front shield preferably is larger than that in the rear shield so that the rear shield blocks rays missed by the front shield. The use of the two shields greatly reduces the precision required in the location of the mask over that required if only one shield were used.
