  • Patent number: 5709932
Abstract: This invention relates to a preparation process of a biaxially oriented heat-shrinkable ultra-thin film, biaxially oriented by the flat process and made of linear low-density polyethylene, characterized in that:an ethylene homopolymer or an ethylene and C.sub.4 to C.sub.18 alpha-olefinic comonomer copolymer of a density lying between 0.89 and 0.94, alone or in combination, are heated beyond the melt temperature and extruded, the extruded film is poured and cooled at the appropriate hardening temperature, the film is drawn a first time in the machine direction at the appropriate temperature between 3 and 7 times the initial dimension of the non stretched film, the film is drawn a second time in the transverse direction at the appropriate temperature between 3 and 15 times the initial dimension of the non stretched film, the biaxially oriented film is drawn a third time in the machine direction at the appropriate temperature between 1.

  • Patent number: 5700442
Abstract: The invention relates to the preparation of insertion compounds based on manganese oxide, usable as the positive electrode active material in a lithium battery. These compounds in the hatched area of FIG. 1 can be prepared by reacting in the solid state a manganese oxide powder MnO.sub.2 -.beta., having a specific surface below 7 m.sup.2 /g and an average grain size below 10 .mu.m, with a powder of a lithium compound such as Li.sub.2 CO.sub.3 or LiOH, at a temperature of 150.degree. to 500.degree. C. for an adequate time to convert the .beta.-MnO.sub.2 into manganese and lithium oxide having a lacunary or stoichiometric spinel structure.

  • Patent number: 5593462
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a multilayer electrochemical assembly comprising steps consisting in co-extruding an element comprising at least one electrode film and an electrolyte film based on an ionic conductor polymer through a die so that the electrode is accessible over at least one main face of the extruded element, and over not more than one edge of said element, spiral winding a complex based on the above-specified extruded element to form a structure having, on different faces of its edges, means for making electrical contact respectively with each of the two electrodes, and metallizing said faces of the edge of the structure.
