Abstract: A process for three-dimensional modeling in which water soluble thermoplastic material is used in an additive deposition process to form a soluble support structure for a three-dimensional model formed via layer-by-layer deposition of the model's geometry. The water-soluble thermoplastic material includes a base of vinyl alcohol. Following the completion of the model, the model is placed in a cold water bath to dissolve the support structure. The water-soluble material can also be used to form soluble model directly.
