Patent number: 11963911Abstract: A patient positioning system for positioning a patient in preparation for an anterior cervical spinal procedure includes a base section, an upper body support attachable to a superior portion of the base section and a lower body support attachable to an inferior portion of the base section. The upper body support is configured to support the head and upper torso of the patient in a manner that aids in opening cervical spine disk space. The lower body support is configured to comfortably lift and support the legs of the patient. A traction strap assembly is attachable to the base section and configured to extend from the base section up around the shoulders of the patient and along the anterior side of the patient to a lower terminal end to enable intermittent traction of the patient's shoulders.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2021Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: Bone Foam, Inc.Inventors: Steven A. Schopler, Choll W. Kim, Benjamin J. Watters, III, Clinton J. McCullough, Peter A. Cole, Jr.

Patent number: 11737943Abstract: A cushion device is configured to be positioned upon a tray of a medical instrument stand such as a Mayo stand. The cushion device includes an upper portion, a front portion that connects to a front side of the upper portion and extends downward therefrom, and first and second side portions that connect to respective first and second longitudinal sides of the upper portion and extend downward therefrom. The inner surfaces of the upper portion, front portion, and side portions define a hollow receptacle that is configured in size and shape to receive a tray of a medical instrument stand so that the cushion device can be selectively positioned on the medical instrument stand.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2020Date of Patent: August 29, 2023Assignee: Bone Foam, Inc.Inventor: Chad Robran

Patent number: 11660225Abstract: A modular device is configured to provide different levels of knee extension to a patient by being moveable between an assembled or “rest” configuration and a detached or “therapy” configuration. The device includes a proximal section with an inclined upper surface and a separate distal section with an inclined upper surface. When attached, the proximal and distal sections form a single continuous incline for supporting a patient's leg. At least one of the sections also includes an ankle supporting cavity that holds the patient's ankle and heel and provides greater stretching/extension of the patient's knee.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2019Date of Patent: May 30, 2023Assignee: Bone Foam, Inc.Inventor: Chad Robran

Patent number: 11602476Abstract: Disclosed are patient positioning systems that support a patient in the prone position. A patient positioning system includes a chest bolster and one or more head supports selectively attachable to the chest bolster. The chest bolster elevates the patient's thorax and provides for gentle cervical flexion, while the one or more head supports can be attached to the chest bolster in different configurations to support the patient in a face down position or with the head turned laterally.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2021Date of Patent: March 14, 2023Assignee: Bone Foam, Inc.Inventors: Anthony A. Romeo, Benjamin J. Watters, III, Clinton J. McCullough, Peter A. Cole, Jr.

Patent number: 11517466Abstract: A limb elevation device comprising a base having a proximal section with an angled upper surface and a distal section with a planar upper surface. The bottom surface of the distal section having one or more recesses with anchor points disposed within the one or more recesses. Securement straps may be selectively attached to the anchor points and the securement straps may be utilized to secure the limb elevation device to a table, bed, or other surface and/or to secure the patient's leg to the securement device itself.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 2020Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: Bone Foam, Inc.Inventor: Chad L. Patent number: 11154447Abstract: A support device provides elevation and support for a patient's foot, including ankle and heal, and limits lateral and medial rotation of the foot. This protects the knee from injury while healing. The device includes a generally flat main body, two spaced-apart lateral ridges, and a medial depression between the lateral ridges that provides a support surface on which the foot may be positioned. The lateral ridges can extend to a height above the support surface so that inner side surfaces of the lateral ridges are adjacent to a majority of a foot placed in the medial depression. The lateral ridges can terminate below a top of the foot to permit unrestricted ventilation and access to the foot. The lateral ridges can be spaced apart to facilitate placement of a foot onto and removal of the foot from the support surface without manual manipulation of the device.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2019Date of Patent: October 26, 2021Assignee: BONE FOAM, INC.Inventors: Stephen Davis Lucey, Chad L. Patent number: 10792066Abstract: An apparatus for supporting an extremity during tissue debridement and capturing fluid and tissue resulting from tissue debridement includes an extremity-supporting base and barrier shroud. The apparatus can be used in tissue debridement procedures to contain and control drainage of fluid and tissue. The apparatus supports and encloses a patient extremity, such as an arm or a leg. The base has a length, proximal end (i.e., nearest the patient's body), and distal end (i.e., farthest from the patient's body). The shroud has a top portion, bottom portion, and shroud drainage opening. A method includes debriding tissue from a patient extremity while supported by the base and at least partially enclosed within the barrier shroud, which acts as a shield for fluid and tissue emanating from the extremity. Fluid and tissue exits the shroud through a shroud drainage opening.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2013Date of Patent: October 6, 2020Assignee: BONE FOAM, INC.Inventors: Doug Parsell, Chad Robran
