Other auxiliary steps are employed to form a completed box component.

Abstract: The invention features an apparatus for fabricating a box-like article or slipcase. The apparatus feeds a box blank from a hopper containing stacked blanks to a work station. The work station comprises a forming block about which the panels of the box blank are folded and bonded together, and clamping, folding and heating apparatus. The complete box is removed from the forming block and conveyed away which causes the fabricating cycle to process a new blank into a box-like article.

Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a novel method of making a book cover including a pocket element wherein a continuous web of cardboard material and a continuous web of paper material are supplied to a work station where they are adhered to each other along their lateral edges. The composite web which is formed is then longitudinally slit at three spaced-apart locations to separate the composite web into first and second composite sections and to form pocket elements on each of the composite sections. These composite sections are then cut in a transverse direction at spaced intervals to form first and second book covers, wherein each of the book covers include its own pocket element adhered thereto.

Abstract: An expandable cover for books is provided for storing, protecting and labeling data processing sheets, accounting records, and the like, comprising a pair of cover boards hinged to corner members which carry openings for receiving sheet attaching means, spine elements for the back of the book cover which have at least one opening for receiving a back or spine protecting element therein, or alternatively, an expandable element such as a foldable material, stretchable material, or further alternatively, a slot in one of the spine elements which slidably engages the second spine element by means of a rivet like member.
