The composition comprises from 0.5 to 10% by weight of salicylic acid and from 0.5 to 10% of hydrogen peroxide, but is substantially free of other therapeutic agents selected from the group consisting of anti-microbial agents, anti-bacterial agents, anti-viral agents, anti-fungal agents, anthelmintic agents and anti-inflammatory agents.
