Abstract: The present invention is directed to a heterophasic polypropylene composition having an improved balance of desirable properties, i.e. high stiffness, high toughness, and high transparency. The heterophasic polypropylene composition of the present invention comprises 60.0 to 95.0 wt % of a crystalline propylene homopolymer with a melting temperature Tm1 measured by differential scanning calorimetry of higher than 155° C., 5.0 to 20.0 wt % of an elastomeric ethylene-propylene rubber, and at least one polymeric nucleating agent, wherein the crystalline propylene homopolymer (H-PP) and the elastomeric ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR) have been produced in the presence of a single-site catalyst, wherein the heterophasic polypropylene composition is characterized by a soluble fraction determined in 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene at 40° C. in the range of 5.0 to 20.0 wt %, and wherein the soluble fraction has an ethylene in content in the range of 12.0 to 40.0 wt %.

Abstract: A cross-linked polymer composition includes a cross-linked polyolefin. Peroxide in an amount of less than 35 mmol —O—O—/kg polymer composition may be included in the polymer composition prior to crosslinking the polyolefin. Suitable polyolefins that can be cross-linked in the polymer composition include an unsaturated LDPE homopolymer and an unsaturated LDPE copolymer of ethylene with one or more comonomers. Such unsaturated LDPE polymer can contain vinyl groups, and the total amount of vinyl groups present in the unsaturated LDPE can be higher than 0.05/1000 carbon atoms. The cross-linked polymer composition can be used, for example, in producing a cross-linkable and cross-linked article such as a cross-linkable and cross-linked direct current (DC) or other type of power cable.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a polyolefin composition which provides improved contrast of laser marks. It is suitable for many applications where precise marking of a molded article made of a polyolefin composition is required, e.g. as outer layer of a wire or cable or in automotive applications.
