  • Patent number: 11606408
Abstract: A method is provided for synchronizing a source device with a sink device. The source device transmits a stream of packets to the sink device. The source device receives feedback from the sink device indicating packet arrival times of the packets at the sink device. Based on the feedback, in some aspects, the source device determines an average time shift in the packet arrival times at the sink device, wherein the average time shift is relative to expected packet arrival times of the packets at the sink device. In some such aspects, the source device detects that the average time shift exceeds a threshold, and in response to the detecting, adjusts a streaming time of the stream of packets to synchronize, within a predefined tolerance, the source device with the sink device.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides hearing assistance devices and methods of generating a resonance within hearing assistance devices that use moving coil drivers, e.g., electro-dynamic coil drivers. As small moving coil drivers are typically inefficient within the voice band of frequencies, e.g., above 1 kHz, the hearing assistance devices described herein utilize the resonance of a mass within the hearing assistance device and a compliance of air within the housing of the hearing assistance device or within portions of the acoustic driver housing to aid in amplification of select frequencies within the voice band of human speech, e.g., between 2.5 kHz and 6 kHz. By using the assistance of the resonance created, the moving coil driver utilized does not need to operate as efficiently within the range of resonance frequencies.

  • Publication number: 20230075802
Abstract: Processes, methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for synchronizing multiple wireless data streams captured in action by various sensors, with lost data recovery. For example, a source device may have multiple sensors acquiring data and sending the data streams (e.g., via Bluetooth connections) to a target device. Timing information may be appended for each of the data streams. Data packets of the multiple data streams may be formed with the timing information. The data packets may be transmitted to a target device that is configured to synchronize the multiple data streams using the timing information. The target device, applying the example processes or techniques of this disclosure, may accurately synchronize the multiple data streams. In some cases, the target device may capture additional data streams and the processor synchronizes all data streams of both the source and the target devices.

  • Patent number: 11600256
Abstract: A first input signal captured by one or more sensors associated with an ANR headphone is received. A frequency domain representation of the first input signal is computed for a set of discrete frequencies, based on which a set of parameters is generated for a digital filter disposed in an ANR signal flow path of the ANR headphone, the set of parameters being such that a loop gain of the ANR signal flow path substantially matches a target loop gain. Generating the set of parameters comprises: adjusting a response of the digital filter at frequencies (e.g., spanning between 200 Hz-5 kHz). A response of at least 3 second order sections of the digital filter is adjusted. A second input signal in the ANR signal flow path is processed using the generated set of parameters to generate an output signal for driving the electroacoustic transducer of the ANR headphone.

  • Publication number: 20230051084
Abstract: Methods and systems for dynamically adjusting a data rate in a wireless connection. The method and system include a source device and a sink device configured to establish a wireless connection. The quality of the wireless connection is monitored, and, should the quality degrade so as to satisfy a triggering event, the source controller can adjust the data rate, e.g., the bit rate or sample rate, used to reduce the number of dropped, lost, or retransmitted packets. The reduction in bit rate and/or sample rate results in packets of decreased size and additional unused air-time. The unused air-time provided can be filled with at least a portion of a frame of data originally associated with another packet. This will result in at least one packet being free to include additional retransmission packets. Additionally, should the quality of the connection improve, the source controller can adjust increase the data rate accordingly.
