  • Patent number: 7007318
Abstract: A lavatory system is disclosed. The lavatory system comprises a base, a panel coupled to the base and configured for translating movement between a first position and a second position, a cover configured for pivoting movement relative to the base between a deployed position and a stowed position, a linkage coupled to the cover and the panel, and a motion control device including a damper configured to affect the movement of the cover and the panel. The linkage comprising at least one member configured to transfer the pivoting movement of the cover to translating movement of the panel. Movement of the cover from the deployed position towards the stowed position actuates the at least one member to move the panel from an extended position towards a retracted position. The damper is configured to control the velocity of the cover during movement.

  • Patent number: 6986171
Abstract: A lavatory system is disclosed. The lavatory system comprises a base, a commode having a front and a rear coupled to the base and movable relative to the base between a deployed position and a stowed position, a first projection engaged between the base and the commode, and a first member adjacent the front and coupled to the projection so that the commode can be disengaged from the base. An apparatus for a lavatory system is also disclosed. The lavatory system has a commode with a front and a rear coupled to a base and configured to pivot between a deployed position and a stowed position, and a detent engaged between the commode and the base. The apparatus comprises a member adjacent the front of the commode and operatively coupled to the detent, the member configured to disengage the commode from the base by actuation of the detent so that the commode can be moved from the deployed position toward the stowed position.

  • Patent number: 6296626
Abstract: An eye wash station is disclosed for dispensing a fluid to a person's eyes. The eye wash station includes a tank to contain the fluid and a pedestal having a tank support portion and a generally horizontal base portion. The eye wash station has a reservoir configured to maintain a substantially constant level of the fluid within the reservoir when the tank is installed. A dispensing arm providing a flow outlet is pivotally mounted to the pedestal for movement between a stowed position where the flow outlet is above the reservoir fluid level and an operating position wherein the flow outlet is below the reservoir fluid level. A conduit, such as a length of flexible tubing or hose, couples the reservoir to the flow outlet to allow flow of the fluid from the reservoir to the flow outlet when the dispensing arm is in the operating position, and a pair of spray heads coupled to the flow outlet provide a spray of the fluid.
