Patent number: 11783966Abstract: Flaps and wraps that provide heat and flame resistant properties to a remote speaker microphone (RSM) and its cord and firefighter turnout coats having the same are disclosed. The flaps have an elongate body of flame and heat resistant fabric having a head, a tail, opposing first and second major surfaces, an elongate edge encompassing the head and the tail that is sewn to the firefighter turnout coat to form a flap seam to a first of the two front sections proximate the neck section, and a first fastener positioned on the second major surface of the head and the tail at an edge opposite the flap seam. A second fastener, which is mateable to the first fastener, is fixedly attached to the firefighter turnout coat at a position under the flap when the flap is in an attached position.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2021Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Assignee: BreakThrough Innovations, LLCInventor: Trent B. Patent number: 11272770Abstract: A wearable radio support system has a shoulder strap connectable to a radio holder and an elongate strap extending therefrom. The shoulder strap has a shoulder-contact portion that includes a first set and a second set of attachment features. The elongate strap has a first end with a first fastener and a second fastener that are releasably attachable to either of the first set or the second set of attachment features of the shoulder strap. The first fastener connects to a first feature of either of the first or second set of attachment features and provides a point of rotation for the elongate strap relative to the shoulder strap and the second fastener connects to a second feature of the same set of attachment features to anchor the elongate strap to the shoulder strap, thereby the first end of the elongate strap no longer rotates about the first feature.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2020Date of Patent: March 15, 2022Assignee: BreakThrough Innovations, LLCInventors: Doug Maddox, Trent Brian Shroyer, Nicholas Robert Seitz

Patent number: 11183318Abstract: Wraps that provide heat and flame resistant properties to a portable radio, a remote speaker microphone (RSM), and a cord therebetween have an elongate body having a head and a tail, opposing first and second major surfaces that each have first and second elongate edges, and first and second elongate sides. The elongate body is made of flame and heat resistant fabric and has first fasteners positioned as a releasably mateable pair when the first and second elongate sides meet or overlap in a wrapped positioned. The head defines an opening therethrough positioned for alignment with a voice amplifier of a RSM when the wrap is in a wrapped position around the RSM. A wrap may be and independent article or it may be sewn to a firefighter turnout coat on a front boy section proximate a neck section of the coat.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2019Date of Patent: November 23, 2021Assignee: BreakThrough Innovations, LLCInventor: Trent B. Patent number: 11043137Abstract: Devices for simulating a transportation emergency are disclosed. The devices have a base with a framework of interconnected supports extending therefrom as a skeletal portion of a simulated transportation device and defining a chamber configured to receive a human or a medical-training manikin. Within the chamber a seat for receiving the human or the medical-training manikin is disposed. The framework defines one or more openings representative of access openings into the simulated transportation device such that a first responder in-training can receive instructions on how to assist a victim positioned in the simulated transportation device. The framework also defines one or more open frames representative of structural features of the simulated transportation device that block access to the victim such that realistic training occurs. The device may include one or more props such as a telescoping steering column, a prying simulator, a foot pedal unit, and a side impact bar.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2018Date of Patent: June 22, 2021Assignee: BreakThrough Innovations, LLCInventors: Russell A. Patent number: 10595603Abstract: A wearable radio support has a radio mount portion and a belt attachment strap. The radio mount portion includes an attachment scaffold with a first end receivable through a loop on a radio or radio holder and foldable upon a secondary section of the attachment scaffold to enclose the loop, a spacing extension member extending from the attachment scaffold thereby spacing the attachment scaffold a preselected distance from the belt, and a first fastener coupled to the spacing extension member at an end opposite the attachment scaffold. The belt attachment strap has a first end and a second end, a sleeve defining a channel therethrough adapted to receive a belt of a user, and a second fastener coupled to the first end of the belt attachment strap. The second fastener is rotatable about the first end and is releasably attachable to the first fastener of the radio mount portion.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2018Date of Patent: March 24, 2020Assignee: BreakThrough Innovations, LLCInventors: Doug Maddox, Trent Brian Shroyer, Nicholas Robert Seitz
