Abstract: A tracheal tube (e.g., an endotracheal tube) includes an inserting cannula (that may be able to swivel), and wherein the inserting cannula is connected to an elbow adaptor through a Bayonet Neill-Concelman (BNC) connection. The BNC connection may provide more secure connection of the corresponding components and may be able to withstand greater amounts of force exerted on them without becoming detached from each other. The elbow adapter may further be coupled to a pressure release valve that will alleviate pressure buildup within the tracheal tube.

Abstract: A device for supporting an intraocular lens in an eye. The device has a lens support structure having an inner perimeter surface defining, at least in part, a central opening. When implanted, light may pass through the central opening towards the retina. The device has at least three fixation arms, each having an origin portion coupled to the lens support structure and a terminal portion comprising an anchor for trans-scleral fixation of the device. Prior to implantation, at least one fixation arm is biased towards a folded configuration and has a bend between the origin portion and the terminal portion. The origin portion extends away from the lens support structure and the anchor of the terminal portion is positioned over or under at least one of a portion of the lens support structure and a portion of the central opening. Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for preventing medication errors by providing warnings at the time of medication administration. A user/administrator of medication and a patient are identified to the system. Once the patient is identified, a graphical user interface (GUI) listing available medications for that patient is displayed. The user selects a medication for administration from the GUI. One or more compliance rules are associated with one or more medications. Each compliance rule provides the text for a comment or warning to be displayed upon the occurrence of a specified condition. The condition may be based on an attribute of the medication or patient such as the name of the medication, allergies of the patient, etc. If a condition is satisfied, the comment/warning in the compliance rule associated with the medication is displayed to the user.
