Abstract: A pneumatic tire having tread grooves and tread-ground contact areas separated from each other by the grooves is disclosed. The tread-ground contact area has an outwardly projected edge and is faced towards the tread grooves. That part of said outwardly projected edge which is located nearest the crown center of the tire has at its tip a minimum rubber thickness, thinner than a standard rubber thickness of the tread-ground contact area with the rubber thickness gradually decreasing towards the tip of the outwardly projecting edge. The tire has an improved uneven wear resistance, resulting in greater comfort, reduced vibration and noise and improved durability.
Abstract: Apparatus for supporting floor plates above substrate comprising a supporting rod threadedly engaged with an upper female screw threaded sleeve fitted in a hole provided at a corner of the floor plate and threadedly engaged with a lower female screw threaded sleeve fitted in a center hole of a cylindrical rubber-like elastic body disposed on the substrate, said supporting rod being provided at its upper end with a slot adapted to be engaged with a driving tool and the upper threads of said supporting rod being oppositely handed to the lower threads thereof.
Abstract: A ceramic porous body useful as a filtering material for molten metal is disclosed. The ceramic porous body, consisting essentially of cordierite, alumina and silica, is formed by covering surfaces of cell strands of a ceramic porous body skeleton having a bulk specific gravity of 0.25-0.55 with 3-40% by weight per the weight of the skeleton of an activated alumina layer and has an average diameter of interconnected voids of 0.3-5.0 mm, a pressure loss of 0.3-30.0 mm as a water-gauge pressure when passing air through the body of 1 cm thick at a rate of 1 m/sec., a microsurface area of not less than 10 m.sup.2 /g and a porosity of 75-95%.
Abstract: A ceramic porous body for use in filtering molten metal is disclosed. The ceramic porous body has a three-dimensionally network cellular structure with a plurality of interconnected voids and is characterized by having a pore size of 25-35 pores per linear centimeter in optional cut area, a bulk specific gravity of 0.3-0.7, a porosity of 75-90%, and a pressure loss of 4.8-30.0 mm as a water-gauge pressure when passing air through the body of 1 cm thickness at a rate of 1 m/sec.
Abstract: A pneumatic tire having an improved chipping resistant property is disclosed. In the tire, the tread portion is formed with a vulcanizate of a rubber composition comprising 3-40 parts by weight of short fibers of syndiotactic-1,2-polybutadiene, 30-100 parts by weight of carbon black and 0.2-5 parts by weight of a p-phenylenediamine type antioxidant, on a basis of 100 parts by weight of a rubber selected from natural rubber, synthetic rubber and a blend thereof in an optional blending ratio.

Abstract: This invention relates to a composition comprising a polybutadiene rubber containing a polymer obtained by block or graft polymerization of cis-1,4-polybutadiene with syndiotactic (syn)-1,2-polybutadiene, alone or blended with the other diene rubber, said syn-1,2-polybutadiene being crystallized and in a short fiber-like shape, and a breaking resistance characteristic and reinforcement characteristic being considerably improved by specifying the diameter and length of said short fiber, which is suitable for various parts of tire or industrial materials, and further relates to a composition of said polybutadiene rubber to which a carbon black is added for preferably used as a chafer or tread of tire, and still further relates to said composition to which a carbon black and an antioxidant are added for preferably used as a rubber blend composition for side wall.

Abstract: This invention relates to a process for hydrocracking a waste rubber such as used tires, used conveyor belts, used hoses etc., and more particularly to a process for hydrocracking such waste rubber with a specific catalyst obtained by mixing (1) a main catalyst of an iron compound with (2) an auxiliary catalyst of metal compounds of the Periodic Table, Group VI, based on a synergistic catalyst action with sulfur contained in said waste rubber so that said waste rubber is decomposed into an oil contents and carbon.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a vulcanizable rubber composition improved in a sulfur blooming obtained by coagulatingly keeping a supersaturated sulfur within said rubber composition. For preventing said sulfur blooming, in the present invention, a surface active agent such as sodium or potassium ethylxanthate, sodium or potassium isopropylxanthate, dialkyldithiophosphoric acid, diphenylthiourea, mercaptobenzothiazole, diphenylthiocarbazone, sodium oleate, sodium stearate or octadecylamineacetate is added to a rubber composition obtained by compounding sulfur as a vulcanizing agent in the amount of 0.5 to 10 parts by weight in relation to 100 parts by weight of rubber which may be any of natural rubber, synthetic rubber and the mixtures thereof.

Abstract: A pneumatic tire for heavy duty vehicles comprises a tread divided by two circumferential zigzag grooves in a tread center zone including block patterns of elongated blocks circumferentially discontinuous with traverse grooves and side zones including circumferentially continuous ribs. The traverse grooves are provided in their mid portions 30-70% of their lengths with platforms making the grooves shallower 30-70% than their original depths. The pattern of the tread converts into a pattern of ribs formed by the circumferential zigzag grooves having branch grooves when the tread has worn more than 30-70%. The tire including the above tread pattern according to the invention is suitable for both use on paved hard roads and weak grounds.
