Abstract: Mechanisms for initiating a unicast video stream in response to a triggering event from a client node receiving a multicast video stream are disclosed. A distribution node communicatively coupled to a plurality of client nodes multicasts a first video stream of a program encoded in a first format to the plurality of client nodes. The distribution node detects a triggering event associated with a first client node of the plurality of client nodes that is receiving the first video stream. In response to the triggering event, a second video stream of the program encoded in a second format is unicasted.

Abstract: Automatic reconfiguration of a device is disclosed. A computing device makes a determination that a first remote control device (RCD) of multiple RCDs is selected for use by a user. The computing device accesses a configuration record of multiple configuration records. The configuration record corresponds to the first RCD. The computing device then reconfigures based on the configuration record.

Abstract: Integration of a mobile hotspot into a service provider network is disclosed. A network node establishes a first wireless communication link with a mobile hotspot device. The mobile hotspot device is configured to establish a second wireless communications link with at least one client device. The network node receives an access request message from the mobile hotspot device which comprises credentials provided by the at least one client device. The network node determines that the at least one client device is authorized to access the service provider network through the mobile hotspot device based on the credentials and indicates to the mobile hotspot device that the at least one client device is authorized to access the service provider network through the mobile hotspot device.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer-readable media for providing caller identification information. A server receives a call notification that identifies a call originating from a calling address for connection to a destination address associated with a wireless destination device. The server makes the determination that the wireless destination device is within a predetermined proximity of a media station. Based on the determination, the server communicates a caller identifier to the media station for presentation on a display device communicatively coupled to the media station.
