Patents Assigned to Briley Manufacturing Co.
  • Publication number: 20060248770
Abstract: A two piece ejection system for a shotgun includes a chamber portion having a first, second and third section of varying outside diameters and an extractor formed from a hollow cylindrical tube having a first and second end, the second end including a plurality of slots. The slots are configured to allow the extractor to slide over the circumference of the third section of the chamber portion and be in sliding engagement with the second section of the chamber portion. Interference means on the plurality of slots and the sections of the chamber portion restrict the travel of the extractor over the second section of the chamber portion.

  • Patent number: 5666756
Abstract: A tubular insert for a shotgun such as an over/under shotgun provides a chamber end portion with a smooth outer surface. In order to achieve a good fit between the tubular insert at the chamber end portion and the shotgun barrel at its breech, a polymeric disk member is mounted in a correspondingly sized and shaped socket milled into outer surface of the chamber end portion of the tubular insert. The polymeric disk member extends a distance away from the outer surface of the chamber end portion to create a slight interference fit between the shotgun barrel bore at the breech and the tubular insert at its chamber end portion.

  • Patent number: 5661255
Abstract: A weapons barrel oscillation reduction apparatus includes a plurality of donut shaped rings or washers mounted on the muzzle end portion of a weapons barrel. The weapons barrel has breech and muzzles end portions and provides a machined ring carrying outer surface at the muzzle end portion. An annular shoulder at one end portion of the ring carrying portions acts as a stop for the plurality of rings mounted thereon. A retainer can be removably attached to the opposite end of the ring carrying surface. Upon assembly, the rings can move slightly in a longitudinal direction with respect to each other during a firing of a projectile from the weapons barrel, the weight of the rings and the slight movement of the rings function to reduce barrel oscillation.

  • Patent number: 5448848
Abstract: A shotgun barrel tube which has an enlarged chamber portion and an elongated barrel. A series of threads or grooves are formed circumferentially around the outer surface of the barrel tube to remove sufficient material to lighten the weight of the barrel tube and maintain sufficient strength to withstand internal pressure when a shotgun shell is discharged.
