Patents Assigned to Brinly-Hardy Company
  • Patent number: 9839176
Abstract: An accessory mount comprises: a lateral bar having a first end and a second end opposite the first end; a first arm connected to the first end of the lateral bar and terminating in a distal end; and a second arm pivotally connected to the second end of the lateral bar and terminating in a distal end. The first and second arms of the accessory mount are configured to engage respective frame portions of a mower or other turf or grounds care equipment, and the pivoting or movement of the second arm relative to the lateral bar adjusts a distance between the distal end of the first arm and the distal end of the second arm. A first clamping assembly may be connected to the first arm, and a second clamping assembly may be connected to the second arm to engage the respective frame portions of the article of turf or grounds care equipment.

  • Patent number: 8386090
Abstract: A system and method for wireless remote operation of an accessory associated with a vehicle includes: providing a wireless remote control transmitter device for transmitting a plurality of signals, and a wireless remote control receiver device including a signal receiver for receiving the plurality of signals from the wireless remote control transmitter device, an input in electrical communication with a vehicle key switch device, and an output in electrical communication with the accessory; providing, by the vehicle key switch device, power to the wireless remote control receiver device in response to receiving a vehicle operation code from a vehicle key and movement of the vehicle key switch device from an OFF position to an ON position; and controlling, by the wireless remote control receiver device, the accessory based on the plurality of signals received from the wireless remote control transmitter device.

  • Patent number: 8074904
Abstract: A broadcast spreader includes a directional control assembly that defines a pathway for granular material from a hopper through a discharge port and onto a rotating fan. The directional control assembly includes a first plate that is secured to and adapted for slidable movement with respect to the hopper. The first plate defines an opening therethrough that is substantially in registry with but smaller than the discharge port, thus serving to define a pathway for the granular material from the hopper through the discharge port and onto the fan. The directional control assembly further includes a second plate secured to and adapted for slidable movement with respect to the hopper and the first plate. Movement of the second plate relative to the first plate selectively opens or closes the pathway for the granular material from the hopper through the discharge port and onto the fan.

  • Patent number: 7413132
Abstract: A sprayer assembly includes a frame that supports a tank for storing a liquid chemical. A pump moves the liquid chemical from the tank to one or more spray nozzles through a flexible hose supported by a boom arm that is attached to and extends from the frame. To allow for adjustment of the positioning of the spray nozzles, the boom arm has a curved end portion that defines a slot. A fastener can be passed through the slot and into a corresponding opening defined in the frame to attach the boom arm to the frame. As such, the boom arm can be fixed at any orientation between 90° (vertical position) and 0° (horizontal position) depending on the application.

  • Patent number: 7063280
Abstract: A broadcast spreader includes a directional control assembly that defines a pathway for granular material from the hopper to a rotating fan, resulting in the distribution of the granular material in a predetermined distribution pattern, wherein rotation of a first (or rotating) plate of the directional control assembly relative to the hopper causes a clockwise or counterclockwise shifting of the pathway for the granular material, thus altering the direction of the predetermined distribution pattern. Furthermore, the directional assembly includes a second (or shutter) plate that is secured to the first plate, the slidable movement of the second plate relative to the first plate regulating flow of granular material from the hopper to the fan.

  • Patent number: 6640532
Abstract: A lawn sweeper generally comprises a tow bar adapted to be connected to a draw bar of a lawn implement, a brush housing containing a plurality of brushes mounted for rotation, and a hamper assembly secured behind the brush housing. A hitch clevis assembly is used to secure the tow bar of the lawn sweeper to the draw bar of a lawn implement and is adjustable in that it allows for attachment at multiple discrete height settings. The preferred lawn sweeper can be easily and rapidly manipulated into an upright storage position, with the hamper assembly having a collapsible frame for storage.
