Abstract: A method for beamforming in a wireless communication begins by receiving a baseband signal. The method continues by receiving a feedback signal that includes a subset of angles, wherein a set of angles provide polar coordinates for a unitary matrix and wherein the subset of angles is a subset of the set of angles. The method continues by determining at least one remaining angle of the set of angles based on the subset of angles. The method continues by determining the polar coordinates for the unitary matrix. The method continues by digitally beamforming the baseband signal using the unitary matrix.
Abstract: Streams of data are processed. A stream of data including a plurality of encoded symbols is received. Symbols from a first subset of the encoded symbols are processed contemporaneously to determine a second subset of encoded symbols, each of which uses a common coding context. At least one symbol from the second subset is evaluated to determine the common coding context. The common coding context is used to process the second subset of encoded symbols.
Abstract: A radio frequency identification (RFID) decoding subsystem includes a pre-decode module and a decode module. The pre-decode module is coupled to process down-converted RFID signals into at least one of pre-decoded baseband data and corresponding decoding information. The decode module is coupled to process the pre-decoded baseband data into decoded RFID data, where the processing of the pre-decoded baseband data is based on the corresponding decoding information when the corresponding decoding information is produced by the pre-decoder module.
Abstract: A method and system enables data redundancy across servers, networks, and controllers by using standard redundant files as underlying storage for RAID subsystem configurations. A redundant array of independent disk (RAID) subsystem includes a front-end interface configured to process non-redundant requests received from a primary file system communicating with an application program. A back-end interface of the RAID subsystem is configured to process redundant requests corresponding to the non-redundant requests. The redundant requests to be issued to a secondary file system communicates with a block mode device including multiple physical storage devices.
Abstract: A plurality of CMTS devices are linked together and synchronized to facilitate communication between the respective CMTS devices and respective downstream cable modems. According to one embodiment of the invention, one of the CMTS devices is designated as a master device, and the other CMTS devices are designated as slave devices. The respective CMTS devices are connected to each other by means of a synchronization bus. The master CMTS device then generates and broadcasts a future time stamp value, which is received by the respective slave CMTS devices. When the time stamp counter in the master CMTS device reaches the transmitted value, a control signal is broadcast over the synchronization bus. The slave CMTS devices then retrieve the time stamp value and reset their respective local time stamp counters to the received value. In this manner, the CMTS devices are synchronized.
