  • Publication number: 20150124165
Abstract: A device for multiple-quality level video processing includes a primary tap configured to receive prime-quality video content from a source and to provide the prime-quality video content to a primary path and to a secondary tap. The primary tap may be operable in a prime-quality mode. The secondary tap may be disposed after the primary tap and may be coupled to a number of secondary paths. One or more dithering modules may be disposed after the primary tap. The dithering module(s) may be configured to convert the prime-quality video content provided by the primary tap to lower-bit precision and/or lower pixel-rate video content for use in one or more of the secondary paths.

  • Patent number: 8841674
Abstract: According to embodiments of the invention, a field transistor structure is provided. The field transistor structure includes a semiconductor substrate, a metal gate, a polycrystalline silicon (polysilicon) layer, and first and second metal portions. The polysilicon layer has first, second, third, and fourth sides and is disposed between the semiconductor substrate on the first side and the metal gate on the second side. The polysilicon layer is also disposed between the first and second metal portions on the third and fourth sides. According to some embodiments of the present invention, the field transistor structure may also include a thin metal layer disposed between the polysilicon layer and the semiconductor substrate. The thin metal layer may be electronically coupled to each of the first and second metal portions.

  • Patent number: 8195964
Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for energy efficient networking via packet inspection are provided. In various embodiments of the invention, a network device may include one or more circuits operable to inspect one or both of ingress and/or egress packets in the network device. The one or more processors may be operable to predict traffic in the network device based on the inspection. The one or more processors may be operable to, based on the predicted traffic, control a mode of operation of the network device to manage power consumption in the network device. A downlink path within the network device may be configured based on inspection of packets conveyed along a corresponding uplink path. An uplink path within the network device may be configured based on inspection of packets conveyed along a corresponding downlink path.

  • Publication number: 20110110309
Abstract: End-point devices, access points and other types of network nodes each employ multi-path management software to manage communication via multiple possible paths to the Internet backbone from communication applications that run on an end-point device. The multi-path management software on an end-point device may operate independently and/or cooperate with the local communication applications and the multi-path management software located on the access points or other network nodes to select one or more pathways for the local communication applications. The multi-path management software depending on data types and data requirements also supports selection and maintenance of two or more paths that simultaneously serve a single communication application. The multi-path management software of an end-point device may pass all or a portion of multi-path management responsibility to a local communication application and/or to multi-path management software of another network node.

  • Publication number: 20090325515
Abstract: An RF front-end includes a transmit adjust module, a PA module, an antenna coupling circuit, a LNA module, and a receive adjust module. The transmit adjust module adjusts coordinates of up-converted analog signals when in a first transmit mode and adjusts coordinates of a plurality of up-converted analog signals when in a second transmit mode to produce to produce multiple adjusted up-converted signals and a plurality of adjusted up-converted signals, respectively, which are subsequently amplified by the PA module. The antenna coupling circuit provides the multiple or the plurality of outbound RF signals to at least some of a plurality of antennas depending on the transmit mode and provides multiple or a plurality of inbound RF signals at least some of the plurality of antennas to the LNA module based on a receive mode. The receive adjust module adjusts coordinates of the multiple or plurality of amplified inbound RF signals based on the receive mode.

  • Patent number: 6934866
Abstract: A network device includes an input, at least one port, a frequency doubler, a data I/O device, and a variable delay circuit. The input is for receiving an external clock signal. The frequency doubler is coupled to the input and configured to receive an input signal and output an output signal with a frequency double that of the input signal. The data I/O device is configured to output data to the at least one port based on a reference clock signal. The variable delay circuit is located between the data I/O device and at least one port. An external clock signal received at the input is input into the frequency doubler. The output signal of the frequency doubler is applied to the data I/O device as the reference clock signal, and the output data is delayed by the variable delay circuit.
