  • Publication number: 20150163650
Abstract: A wireless local area network (WLAN) transmitter includes a baseband processing module and a plurality of radio frequency (RF) transmitters. The processing module selects one of a plurality of modes of operation based on a mode selection signal. The processing module determines a number of transmit streams based on the mode selection signal. The processing of the data further continues by converting encoded data into streams of symbols in accordance with the number of transmit streams and the mode selection signal. A number of the plurality of RF transmitters are enabled based on the mode selection signal to convert a corresponding one of the streams of symbols into a corresponding RF signal such that a corresponding number of RF signals is produced.

  • Publication number: 20150163698
Abstract: Various combinations of these teachings solve dual errors for a user equipment UE checking whether a private cell is allowed when handing over between serving and target cells, where the PLMN and/or list of EPLMNs of the serving and target cells may differ. The serving cell may send a one-bit indication that there is a change in a handover command or a system information SI6 message after which the UE may or may not refrain from reporting new cells until it performs a registration/location area update in the target cell. The target cell may trigger in the UE a registration update then provide the UE with the PLMN of the target cell. The serving cell can provide the PLMN of the target cell in a SI6 message or handover command, which the UE may use in place of or in addition to the PLMN/EPLMN of the serving cell when checking whether a private/closed subscriber group cell is allowed.

  • Publication number: 20150162914
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for a clock distribution network for distributing clocking signals within a synchronous sequential logic circuit. The clock distribution network distributes the one or more clock signals by inductively and/or capacitively coupling a clocking signal from a primary distribution node to various secondary distribution nodes within the synchronous sequential logic circuit. The various secondary distribution nodes resonate at respective resonant frequencies to generate other clocking signals for use within the synchronous sequential logic circuit in response to receiving the clocking signal.

  • Patent number: 9054412
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments providing processing circuitry for selecting a channel estimation filter from a plurality of channel estimation filters based on a channel quality metric, the selected channel estimation filter being associated with an intrinsic coefficient. The processing circuitry may then determine a scaled coefficient, the scale coefficient being based on scaling the intrinsic coefficient with respect to a bit size constraint, the bit size constraint being determined by a bit length of a multiplication circuitry operand. Moreover, the processing circuitry may generate an output based on the scaled coefficient and an input signal.

  • Patent number: 9055611
Abstract: A Wi-Fi Direct Group Owner stores network parameters needed for proper operation of a peer-to-peer network. These include the network name and identifier, the power save schedule, the security settings, MAC address of all of the group members, etc. To reduce the need for a single Group Owner, this information is distributed. As each new device is added to the network, all of these parameters are passed via IEEE 802.11 data packets from the device acting as the Group Owner to the new peer device. This way, the new peer device has all of the information about the group at the time that it joins. Any device in the Resilient Peer Network can temporarily take on the role of a traditional Wi-Fi Direct Group Owner (admission control). Selection of which peer will act as a Group Owner will depend on a user action or network event.

  • Patent number: 9053698
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are provided for performing jitter buffer enhanced joint source channel decoding. Jitter buffer enhanced joint source channel decoding may be performed in a manner that exploits parameter domain correlation. A jitter buffer stores hard bits of properly channel decoded packets, and a secondary jitter buffer is implemented to store soft bits associated with packets that are improperly channel decoded. Joint source channel decoding may be delayed to perform channel decoding of a frame in the penultimate position of the jitter buffer. The soft bits stored in the secondary jitter buffer as well as hard bits stored in the jitter buffer, which may include future frames, are utilized to perform channel decoding. The delayed jitter buffer enhanced joint source channel decoding may also be extended to iteratively perform channel decoding for giving frames at each position in the jitter buffer as they traverse the jitter buffer.

  • Patent number: 9054866
Abstract: A multimode DSL (digital subscriber line) line driver circuit is disclosed. The line driver circuit includes a switch network that enables the line driver circuit to be switched between multiple DSL communication configurations. Upon receipt of a mode control signal, the line driver circuit switches from a first DSL communication configuration to a second communication configuration. A DSL communication signal configured according to the second DSL communication configuration is received at the line driver circuit. The received DSL communication signal is amplified and/or filtered by the line driver circuit. The received DSL communication signal is transmitted from the line driver circuit. In one example implementation, the line driver circuit may be switched from an asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) configuration to a very high speed digital subscriber line (VDSL) configuration, and may be switched from the VDSL configuration to the ADSL configuration.
