Abstract: A baffle system for a lighting or ventilation apparatus, the system having a baffle with a wall extending from an upper end to a lower end, and a lip extending from the wall lower end to a lip outer edge and defining a lip face. A mask is configured to couple to the baffle and cover the lip face. The mask provides aesthetics different from the aesthetics of the lip face and facilitates simple and economical alteration of the baffle aesthetics.

Abstract: A ventilation assembly includes a main housing comprising a first housing wall and a second housing wall, a fan assembly disposed within the main housing, the fan assembly including a fan, and an acoustic device disposed between said first and second housing walls, the acoustic device having a first distal portion, a second distal portion and an intermediate portion extending between the first distal portion and the second distal portion, the first distal portion being relatively wider than the intermediate portion.

Abstract: A humidity monitoring system mountable to a wall has a housing for receiving a humidity sensor. A face plate having an extended portion can be mounted over the housing such that the extend portion is positioned adjacent to the humidity sensor. The extended portion defining a secondary space within which humid air can be pass proximate to the humidity sensor to improve the monitoring of the ambient humid air.

Abstract: A grille assembly for a ventilation system, the grille comprising a first primary reflector, a second primary reflector configured and arranged to define an intake gap between the first primary reflector and the second primary reflector, and a secondary reflector located over the intake gap to conceal the intake gap from view; a light source on one of the first and second primary reflectors and configured and arranged to generate light wherein at least some of the light will be redirected by both the primary and secondary reflectors.

Abstract: A mounting bracket mountable to the underside of the cabinet prior to the range hood and configured to engage and support the range hood as the range hood is secured to the cabinet. The mounting bracket having a support feature engagable to the range hood to hold the range hood proximate the cabinet while fasteners are sunk to secure the range hood to the cabinet. The mounting brackets are pre-positioned on the cabinet such that range hood is aligned with the cabinet when the range hood is supported by the support feature. The smaller mounting brackets can be more easily mounted in the proper position on the cabinet then the larger range hood speeding the installation process and reducing errors.

Abstract: A damper assembly having a main body defining a continuous fluid path extending between a first opening and a second opening and a damper door rotatable within the main body to control the flow of fluid through the main body. The main body including an engagement edge extending circumferentially on an inner surface of the main body. The damper door can be rotated relative to the main body to sealingly engage an outer edge of the damper door with the engagement edge. The engagement edge of the main body can be oriented on the inner surface such that the surface area of the outer edge such that engagement of the engagement edge gradually increases as the damper door is rotated to seal the damper door to the main body.

Abstract: A modular range hood having a backbone module attachable to a cabinet or other support structure, wherein a shell and at least one ventilation module can be coupled to the backbone module to provide desired aesthetic characteristics and/or functionality. The backbone module can have a mounting feature for receiving a fastener or configured to otherwise secure the backbone module to an underside mounting position of the cabinet or other support structure. The backbone module can provide a standardized base to which different shells and ventilation modules can be coupled to provide a modular range hood having the desired aesthetic characteristics and/or functionality. Similarly, the standardized backbone module can simplify installation by standardizing the mounting of the modular range hood to the cabinet or other support structure irrespective the shell and ventilation module attached to the range hood.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a lighting and ventilating system including a main housing. The main housing can include an inlet through which air can be received within the main housing and an outlet through which the air can exit the main housing. A fan wheel can be supported in the main housing and it can be operable to generate a flow of air. A grille can be coupled to the main housing and the grille can comprise at least one aperture. The system can include a plate coupled to the grille and the plate can include a recess. Also, a set of illumination devices can be at least partially disposed within the recess.

Abstract: A lighting and ventilating system includes a main housing with an air inlet and an air outlet a fan provided in the main housing to generate a flow of air between the air inlet and outlet; a grille having a plurality of apertures and coupled to the main housing; and a plate having an aperture located substantially centrally on the plate and defined by an aperture wall with a plurality of mounting notches, the plate coupled to the grille to define an airflow intake gap between the plate and at least a portion of the grille. The system further can include a lamp housing coupled to the grille and including at least a first set of illumination devices.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a ventilation assembly including a scroll assembly that can include a blower assembly including a motor coupled to a blower wheel. Some embodiments include a discharge grid capable of being coupled to the scroll using a coupling pin or snap tabs. In some embodiments, the discharge grid includes a plurality of vertical and horizontal fins, and an outlet restriction. In some embodiments, at least one of the plurality of horizontal fins extends from the outlet restriction to couple with at least one vertical fin to form an aperture. In other embodiments, at least a portion of at least one of the plurality of vertical and horizontal fins includes a flared surface. Some embodiments include a scroll assembly that includes a scroll crescent. In some embodiments, a scroll including a discharge grid and scroll crescent can at least partially guide a fluid within the ventilation assembly.
