A pressure plate is movable between a contact position at which the sheet on the manual feed tray contacts the supply roller and a separated position at which the sheet on the manual feed tray is separated from the supply roller. A push-up cam pushes up the pressure plate from the separated position to the contact position. The push-up cam includes a contact portion configured to contact the pressure plate. A controller is configured to: when performing printing on a plurality of sheets, after moving the pressure plate from the separated position to the contact position, convey the plurality of sheets by intermittently driving the supply roller while maintaining the pressure plate at the contact position.

Abstract: A consumable consuming device includes a consumable holder and a controller. The controller is switchable between a first state in which no agreement for delivery of a consumable is in effect and a second state in which an agreement for delivery of the consumable is in effect. The controller is configured to perform: a first determination process to determine a first remaining life that is a remaining life of the consumable provided to the consumable holder during a time when no agreement for delivery of the consumable is in effect; a consumption process to perform a prescribed operation while consuming the consumable in the second state; and a billing control process to perform a billing-related process after the first remaining life decreases to a predetermined quantity through execution of the consumption process but does not perform the billing-related process until the first remaining life decreases to the predetermined quantity.

Abstract: A reciprocating mechanism reciprocates by drive force from a drive source and to press a chute to move from a first position to a second position. In response to determining that a parameter is greater than a threshold for the parameter, a controller executes a first mode of actuating the drive source when conveying one sheet. The parameter decreases as a conveyance speed of the sheet at the fixing nip increases. The threshold is such a value that, when the parameter is greater than the threshold, a difference between a conveyance speed of the sheet at a transfer nip and the conveyance speed of the sheet at the fixing nip is greater than a particular level. In response to determining that the parameter is smaller than or equal to the threshold, the controller executes a second mode of not actuating the drive source when conveying one sheet.

Abstract: A process cartridge includes: a drum cartridge; and a developing cartridge. The drum cartridge includes: a drum frame; a photosensitive drum rotatable about a first axis extending in a first direction; and a first memory having a first electrical contact surface. The developing cartridge is attachable to the drum frame and includes: a casing; a developing roller rotatable about a second axis extending in the first direction; a second memory having a second electrical contact surface; and a developing holder holding the second electrical contact surface such that the second electrical contact surface is movable relative to the casing. The drum cartridge further includes an elastic member that can expand and contract in a second direction crossing the first direction. The developing holder is connected to the elastic member and is movable in the second direction in a state where the developing cartridge is attached to the drum frame.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a controller configured to perform an acquisition processing of acquiring a preceding command, a preparation processing, and a printing processing. In a case where the controller determines that a performance condition of the printing processing is satisfied, the controller is configured to perform the preparation processing in response to acquisition of the preceding command, and the printing processing in accordance with a print instruction. In a case where the controller determines that the performance condition is not satisfied, the controller is configured not to perform the preparation processing in response to the acquisition of the preceding command. Abstract: An image forming apparatus including a housing, a sheet cassette, a second roller, a gear train, a pendulum gear, and a stop member. The gear train includes a gear rotatable together with the second roller. The pendulum gear is movable between a meshing position where the pendulum gear is in meshing engagement with the gear train and a separated position where the pendulum gear is separated away from the gear train. The stop member allows the pendulum gear to move from the separated position to the meshing position. In the state where the sheet cassette is at an internal position and the stop member is at the second position, the stop member is out of contact with a part of the sheet cassette in a first direction but contacts the part of the sheet cassette in a second direction.
